Kitesurf Tenerife: Information
- Do not forget your Club Canary ticket. You can have it on your phone or printed out.
- Be sure to have some cash or a debit card with you, as the session requires a final payment before it begins.
- Pack your swimwear incase you would like to wear it under your wetsuit, a towel and sunscreen.
- The staff speak several languages.
- Make sure you do not start kitesurfing with a complete empty stomach.
- Make sure you have not drunk any alcohol before the session.
- Children under the age of 16 must have permission from their parents.
- There is a toilet and a room to change your clothes at the water sports school.
Kite School Location

- You should attend at least 15 minutes before the session starts.
- There are many parking options nearby. However, it is a hugely busy area and is probably most occupied. We therefore recommend you come early or else take a cab/bus.
- Open the location on google maps, find here the departure location and the office of Club Canary.
Kitesurf Tenerife: Policy
- To participate, you must master basic swimming techniques and and have some reasonable level of fitness.
- We will try to assign you to a group of your same level and age. However, we cannot guarantee that it will always be a perfect match.
- Minimum age to participate is 8 years and the maximum age 70 years. For exceptions contact us.
- Kitesurfing in Tenerife requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- You may cancel or reschedule the trip for free up to 48 hours in advance. Send us your request by email: office@clubcanary.com.
- If you do not cancel in time or are not in time on the day of the water session, there will be no refund.
- Complaints regarding kitesurfing session should be discussed. Club Canary staff is not present on the day and cannot judge situations.
- If you get sick, or you find kitesurfing scary / not fun and want to stop. We cannot offer a refund.

Private lessons mean 1:1 with the instructor which will give you the optimal conditions to learn and make big progress. The introductory lesson last 3 hours, consisting of kite control on land, exercises in the water and water board starts if you manage to get that far. If you decide to book a full course you may do so directly at the school once you’re there.
Group Kitesurfing Lessons
Group kitesurfing lessons with the instructor last 3 hours. These are the most commonly booked classes as they combine effectiveness while being on budget.
Tenerife Kitesurfing Beginner
Kitesurfing for beginners in Tenerife consists of an introductory 3-hour lesson. On this introductory lesson you will learn to kite control on land, exercises in the water such as everybody’s favourite body-drag. If you make good progress you may expect to begin with the board water starts during your first lesson.
Water Conditions for Kitesurfing and The Right Time to Choose
We don’t want participants to be in danger, or simply unable to do the activity due to too big waves or wind. To ensure that your booked lesson can go ahead, please follow the following 2 tips:
- Book your session early in your vacation. If the day is not convenient we will contact you to reschedule.
- When you make your booking choose the option “when the conditions are best” we will then depending on the weather conditions choose the best water conditions time for you.
