Kayak tours
Before the Tenerife kayak tour starts, the following steps are being taken:
1. Kayak instructions
Once you arrive at Atlantis diving school you will be introduced to the program. A video is shown explaining the safety rules and kayaking techniques. After the explanation, you will be given time to change into your gear.
2. Putting on the gear
After you watch the instructional video, you will be offered a wetsuit and while kayaking, you must wear a life jacket. We recommend that you wear a swimsuit, and over your swimsuit you can wear your wetsuit on colder days. During kayaking we do not have water closures available, we recommend that you leave your belongings in a locker at the dive center.
3. Select your kayak
Before the kayaking excursion begins, you can choose to go in the kayak alone, in pairs or in threes. Your choice makes no difference in the price. The total trip takes about 2.5 hours.

One of the highlights of the Tenerife kayak tour is the snorkeling. The kayak group paddles under supervision to a snorkeling site near Palm Mar which is the habitat of the Tenerife turtles. At the location, Tenerife turtle safaris are organized daily by diving schools. The location is quite unique compared to other Tenerife snorkeling spots because it is remote and you will need transport to reach it. At this snorkeling location, turtles can be found daily in the morning and in the afternoon. Here the guide will give you the some free time to put on the given snorkel set, after this, you can snorkel by yourself. Please note this is not a snorkeling lesson, the guide can give some tips and will point out where the turtles can be found but you are expected to be able to snorkel on your own nearby. You can choose if you want to snorkel with or without a life jacket. The chance of snorkeling with turtles during this kayak trip is about 70% and stingrays around 30%. Please note you must be able to swim reasonably well if you want to get close to them, touching turtles is prohibited.
