Let us keep it real for a second. A self-drive boat is a lot of fun, but you are the captain, so a bit of common sense goes a long way. You may have seen the videos online of people getting into trouble near the rocks or caught in the swell. Do not be that person. If the crew tells you to stay in a certain area, stay there, and if the sea looks rough, do not push your luck. It is not worth the money, the danger to you and your group, or the risk to other people in the water.
What You Are Responsible For
Here is the honest part: once you take the boat out, what happens is on you. The operator gives you a full safety briefing and sets the rules, the boat is tracked by GPS, and they can see where you went. Club Canary handles your booking and is not on the boat, so anything on the day is between you and the operator's team at the harbour. That is who to speak to if something comes up.
What Is Not Refundable
So you know up front, a few things are not refundable: turning up late (including if you forget your passport or ID and have to go back, as you must bring valid ID), ending your trip early, or feeling seasick when the conditions are safe. The deposit and the balance are shown clearly before you book, so there are never any surprise charges.

- No boating license is needed, but the driver must be 18 or over, completely sober, and have valid ID. You get a safety briefing and driving explanation before you set off, so no experience is required. The operator can refuse the rental if the group is unsafe or does not follow the briefing.
- Bring your Club Canary ticket and valid ID, plus numerar for the balance on arrival (cash is preferred for a faster check-in). Pack swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and your own snacks and drinks for the fridge.
