Forestal Park - Tenerife Zip Lines And Treetop Adventure In The North

Forestal Park Tenerife is an outdoor adventure park set in a centenary Canary pine forest in the north of the island, at Monte de La Esperanza. It has more than 90 treetop games, zip lines, suspension bridges, rope nets and lianas, including the biggest zip line and high-altitude course in the Canary Islands. It is all guided, you stay clipped in at height from start to finish, and there are routes for every level, from gentle to extreme.

Forestal Park Tenerife, An Outdoor Adventure Park In The North

This is the biggest outdoor adventure park in Tenerife, a proper treetop playground in the northern pine forest. You climb, cross rope bridges, balance over nets and fly down zip lines through the canopy, all clipped into a safety line with instructors on hand. There are courses from easy to extreme, so families, teens, adults and complete beginners can all find a route that suits them. It is one of the more memorable things to do in the north of Tenerife if you love the outdoors.

Is Forestal Park Worth It?

Let us be straight with you. It is not a must-do in Tenerife, and if you are only here for a week of beaches it may not top your list. But if you love the outdoors, live on the island or come often, or you are planning a group day, birthday or team outing, it is genuinely good fun. It suits people staying in the north, since it is a drive from the southern resorts. If that sounds like you, you will have a great few hours in the trees.

Forestal Park is home to more than 90 games suspended between the tops of the Canary pines, from suspension bridges and rope nets to lianas and giant zip lines. You pick your entry time, gear up, and work through the circuits at your own pace with the team guiding you.

Getting There, And An Honest Word On Transport

Forestal Park sits on a mountain road in Monte de La Esperanza, in the north of Tenerife, so it takes a bit of planning to reach. Here is the honest advice.

🚗 With Your Own Car
  • This is the way to do it. The drive up through the forest is lovely.
  • Make it a north road trip, this park is a perfect first stop. See our Tenerife north road trip.
  • It is a mountain road shared with cyclists, so leave early and drive calmly.
🚌 Without Transport
  • We honestly would not recommend it. Public transport up the mountain is awkward.
  • Buses can be delayed or missed, and weekend availability is limited.
  • If it is not easy for you to get there, pick a different activity.
Car park safety, please read. This is a quiet forest car park, and there have been reports of break-ins, including a smashed window with belongings taken. Do not leave anything valuable in your car, and nothing visible on the seats. Take your things with you or use the lockers inside the park. Better safe than sorry.

Whichever way you come, arrive 30 minutes before your booking time to check in at reception and get your equipment before the adventure starts.

Straight talk: Forestal Park is not a must-do in Tenerife. If you are here for a short beach holiday, there are things we would point you to first. But if you love the outdoors, you live here or visit often, or you are planning a group day, a birthday or a team outing, it is a genuinely fun few hours in the trees, and the zip lines are the real deal.

The catch is the location. It is up in the northern forest, so it makes most sense if you are staying in the north or you have a car. With a car, make a day of it and turn it into a north road trip, with the park as your first stop. Without transport, we honestly would not recommend it, the mountain buses are a hassle and easy to miss. And it is fully guided, so you are always with an instructor, not running wild.
