Kayak Fuerteventura, Sea Kayaking From La Lajita Beach
You are collected from your accommodation and driven to La Lajita on the south coast. Before you get near the water there is a proper briefing: how to hold and use the paddle, the basic technique, and the rules that keep the group together. Then you launch from the beach with an experienced guide leading the whole way.
Why A Kayak Beats Swimming Here
Fuerteventura kayaking earns its place for one reason: this stretch of coast has caves and small beaches you simply cannot reach on foot or by swimming out. A kayak covers ground, carries you into the caves, and gets you close to volcanic cliffs from the one angle that actually shows their scale. That is the honest reason to do this rather than just going for a swim.
Kayak Only, Or Kayak Plus Snorkelling?
Two versions of the same trip, and you pick when you book. The difference is whether you stop and get in the water partway through.
Kayaking Only
- All paddling, no swim stop.
- More time covering coast, caves and coves.
- Right if you would rather stay dry, or the water is chilly.
The pure kayaking version.
Kayak Plus Snorkelling
- About 30 minutes of snorkelling partway through.
- Snorkelling equipment provided, instructor with you.
- Two activities for one trip, and a rest for your arms.
Two things in one session.
Svarbu: the snorkel break is neįtrauktas if you choose kayaking only. Pick the combined option at booking if you want it.
Want proper snorkelling instead? Mūsų dedicated snorkelling session gives you around 50 minutes in the water rather than 30, from the same base. Choose that one if snorkelling is the main event and the kayak is not.
Sea Kayak Fuerteventura, Caves And Hidden Beaches
The route follows the south coast, and what makes sea kayaking Fuerteventura worth the effort is access. From a kayak you get the island's volcanic landscape seen from the water, small beaches with no road to them, and sea caves you paddle straight into.
The guide picks the route on the day based on the sea state, so it flexes. That is normal and it is also why you get somewhere worth going rather than a fixed loop regardless of conditions.
Will You See Dolphins Kayaking In Fuerteventura?
Honestly? Probably not, and we would rather say so now. Kayaking in Tenerife regularly turns up dolphins and turtles. In Fuerteventura those animals are not easily seen from a kayak, and any page telling you otherwise is guessing.
What you will find is plenty of other marine species, especially if you take the snorkel option and actually get your face in the water. The coastline, the caves and the volcanic cliffs are the real draw here, not the wildlife.
⚠️ If dolphins are the whole point of your day, do not book this. Take the Jūrų kelionė delfinų stebėti iš Morro Jable instead, which has a money-back sighting guarantee option, or the small group catamaran. Both are built for wildlife. A kayak is not.

Kayak Sharing Rules And Ages 6 To 65
Useful if you are booking for a family, because the sharing rules decide how many kayaks you actually need. Here they are plainly.
Two adults can share one kayak. That is the standard setup for a couple or two friends.
Children under 10 must share with an adult. No exceptions, so a family with two young children needs two adults across two kayaks.
Three people in one kayak is only possible if at least one is a child. So two adults plus a child works. Three adults does not.
Ages 6 to 65 overall. From 6 with an adult, and 65 is the operator's upper limit.
Pregnancy: permitted up to 5 months.
Over 65? Message us before booking and we will check with the operator rather than have you turned away at the base.
⚠️ You do need some fitness. Kayaking is genuine physical work, more than snorkelling or a boat trip. If you find you cannot manage it and have to head back early, no refund can be given, so be realistic about it. If you are unsure, the snorkelling session arba kelionė laivu asks far less of you.
Make A Day Of It At La Lajita
We run four activities from this same base at La Lajita, and it sits in the middle of everything else we do in the south. So a kayak in the morning leaves plenty of day left.
Nardymas su vamzdeliu

- Ages 6 and up, life jacket included.
- Take this if snorkelling is the main event.
Scuba Try Dive

- 30 minutes land training, then 20 or 40 minutes underwater.
Irklenčių sportas
- Same base, ages 10 and up.

Pasivažinėjimas Bagiu
- Starts at Matas Blancas, Costa Calma, minutes away.
- From 120€ per buggy, not per person.
Something faster? The 30 minute jet ski arba 1 hour safari, both from Morro Jable, a short drive south.
Want the wildlife? The delfinų kelionė laivu arba small group catamaran, both from Morro Jable.
Evening? Žvaigždėžiūra clashes with nothing.
Booking a few things? Message us with your dates and we will line the timings up properly, and say so if two things clash.

Nuoširdi „Club Canary“ Nuomonė
Tikras pokalbis iš jūsų vietinės komandos Kanarų salose
Real talk: a kayak gets you into caves and onto beaches that nothing else reaches, and seeing those volcanic cliffs from sea level is genuinely worth the arm ache. Take the version with the snorkel break. Thirty minutes in the water is a nice rest halfway and you get two activities for one trip.
Now the honest part. You will most likely not see dolphins here. Kayaking in Tenerife turns them up regularly, but in Fuerteventura they are not easily spotted from a kayak, and we are not going to pretend otherwise to close a booking. If wildlife is what you came for, take the dolphin boat from Morro Jable, which even has a money-back sighting option.
And be realistic about the effort. Kayaking is proper work, and if you have to turn back early there is no refund. If that sounds like hard going, the snorkelling session from the same beach asks nothing of you at all.
Caves, cliffs and coves you cannot reach any other way. Bring your arms.
