Shared Coach
Bus Tours From South Tenerife
The classic coach excursions. Hotel pick-up around Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos, an official guide, free time at each stop. Coaches carry around 30 to 50 people, have air conditioning and no toilet, because the mountain roads need shorter buses. Cheapest way to see the island without a rental car.
The cheapest way to stand in Teide National Park. About 90 minutes of free time at Los Roques de Garcia, back at the hotel mid afternoon. No cable car.
6 til 7 timerKlimaanlæg vognSouth pick-upBack around 15:00
Bedst til: a budget half day, families, people who want the afternoon free.
Staying in the north? These three start there. And several south tours also collect in Puerto de la Cruz on set days: the Teide and Masca tour free on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the North tour on Tuesday and Thursday for a small extra, La Gomera on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for 7€, and La Palma includes Puerto and La Orotava pick-up. It is written on each card. One rule for all Puerto de la Cruz pick-ups: the tour is paid in full when you book, not deposit plus rest on the day.
Built for cruise days and for people staying in the capital. Private minivan from the port gates, the eastern road up to Teide, 20 to 30 minutes in La Laguna, back before your ship leaves.

Bedst til: cruise passengers docked in Santa Cruz, hotel guests in the capital.
Stargazing for the north. Hotel pick-up in Puerto de la Cruz, sunset above the clouds, a three course dinner inside the park, then the stars with the naked eye. No telescopes on this one, minimum two adults.

Bedst til: north guests who want Teide at night without driving.
Minibuses and vans with 8 to 19 seats instead of a coach. Shorter pick-up rounds, more time at the stops, a guide who learns your name. You pay more per person, and most people say it was worth it.
Teide and Masca with the roof off. Max 19 guests, shorter pick-up round, a wine and snack stop, guides in four languages. Balance paid in cash on the bus.

Bedst til: couples and photographers who want Teide and Masca without a 50 seat coach.
Eight seats in the van, one guide, one Celestron telescope, sunset first and then the stars. The stargazing trip Tenerife regulars recommend to friends.

Bedst til: people who want the night sky explained properly, in a small group.
Same highlights, different seat. You ride in an open 4x4 with a driver-guide, Teide and Masca in about 7 hours or La Gomera in about 9. Dusty, fun, not for bad backs.

Our most reviewed tour. Ferry from Los Cristianos, guided coach around the island, Garajonay forest, the whistling language, a three course lunch with wine. Guides in English, Spanish, German, French and Italian, Dutch on most days.

The long one, about 07:45 to 19:30. Fast ferry, guided coach, lunch, and the 2021 Tajogaite volcano. Guide in English, other languages on selected days. Passport or EU ID needed. If you miss the ferry there is no refund.

Bedst til: people with a spare full day who want a second island with a fresh volcano.
One price per group, not per person. An 8 seat minivan, a licensed driver-guide, and a route that bends to what you want. For two people it is a luxury. For six or eight it is often cheaper per head than the coach, and you never wait for stragglers. The Santa Cruz private tour above is the fourth one.
Adult and child prices come from each tour page today. Child normally means 2 to 11 years. The price on the tour page and in your confirmation is the one that counts. Dagstur til El Hierro: paused for now, no same day ferry back.
Same Place, Two Ways To Do It
TeideCoach or private?
The El Teide-bus is 38,50€ per adult, half a day, 90 minutes at Los Roques. The Privat Teide-tur is from 350€ per group and goes where you point. Two people: take the coach. Six people: the private one costs about the same per head and gives you the whole day.
La GomeraClassic or small group?
The classic La Gomera trip is 100€ with lunch and wine, our most reviewed tour, but a full coach and a long day. The small group version is 149€, 18 guests, fast ferry, no lunch included. Pay the difference if crowds ruin your day.
Stjerneskud40€ or 80€?
The Sunset and Stargazing Tour is the budget night: shared, two telescopes, every night. The Stjernekiggeri i små grupper is 80€, eight in the van, one telescope for eight people and a guide who tells stories. The 80€ one is the trip people talk about at breakfast.
What Is The Easiest Way To See Tenerife Without A Car?
A guided bus tour with hotel pick-up. The Teide and Masca Island Tour covers Teide National Park, Icod, Garachico and Masca in one day for 57€ per adult, which is less than a day of car rental plus fuel and parking, and nobody in your group has to drive the mountain roads. If you have two days, add the Bustur til det nordlige Tenerife for the green side of the island. If you hate coaches, the same route exists as an open top minibus for 80€ or as a Privat tur from 350€ per group.
Which Tenerife Bus Tour Should I Book First?
For a first visit, the Teide and Masca Island Tour. It is the most complete route and the most booked. If you are short on time or money, the El Teide Bus Tour gets you into the national park for 38,50€ and back by mid afternoon. If you already saw Teide, take the North Tenerife Bus Tour or the Island Tour Without Teide. Families with small children usually prefer the half day.
Can I Do A Teide Tour From Puerto De La Cruz Or Santa Cruz?
How Does Hotel Pick-Up Work On Tenerife Bus Tours?
You enter your hotel name when booking and get a pick-up time and point by email, usually the hotel entrance or a stop nearby. Coach tours from the south collect between about 07:30 and 09:00 depending on your area, and the coach does a round of hotels before leaving. Small group tours have shorter rounds. The La Gomera classic trip also collects in the north. Drop-off is at the same place. Be outside five minutes early; the guide will not know you are still at breakfast. Pick-ups in Puerto de la Cruz are paid in full at booking. For the south tours you pay a deposit to Club Canary online and the rest on the day, in cash to the guide or through a payment link or QR code the guide gives you, with credit card, PayPal and similar, because the card machines on the buses do not always have signal in the mountains.
Is A Private Tour In Tenerife Worth It?
For two people, only if you value time and quiet more than money. For four or more, run the numbers: a private Teide tour from 350€ for three plus a small fee per extra seat comes close to what six adults pay for a coach, and you choose the stops, the pace and the language. Groups of six to eight, cruise passengers with a deadline, and people with mobility limits get the most out of private.
Where Should I Book Tenerife Tours?
Book where you get real prices, a human to ask, and the same tour for less than the hotel desk. Club Canary is a licensed travel agency with an office in the Plaza del Duque Shopping Centre in Costa Adeje. We book these tours with the local operators who run them, we show adult and child prices side by side, and our Best Price Guarantee means you do not pay more than at the operator. You reserve with a small deposit online and pay the rest on the day. If a tour is not right for you, we say so on WhatsApp before you book, not after.
Honest take from the office. Coach tours are long days with a lot of people, and the guide cannot slow down for one couple. That is why they cost 47€ and not 147€. If that sounds fine, they are excellent value and thousands of our guests loved them. If it sounds like a headache, look at the small group section or ask us about private. There is no wrong answer, only the wrong tour for you.
How do I pay the rest on the day?
In cash to the guide, or through a payment link or QR code the guide or the local operator gives you on the bus, where you can pay by credit card, PayPal and similar. The link is used instead of a card machine because the machines on the buses often have no signal in the mountains. It takes a minute on your phone. Club Canary has arranged thousands of these tours and this part almost never causes a problem. If you prefer, you can also pay the full amount to Club Canary online in advance.
How long are the bus tours?
Full day island tours run about eight hours including pick-up and drop-off. The El Teide Bus Tour and the Puerto de la Cruz tour are shorter, about five to seven hours. Ferry day trips to La Gomera and La Palma are the longest, about ten to twelve hours. Stargazing tours are evening trips of three to five hours.
What is the difference between a coach tour and a small group tour?
Coaches carry around 30 to 50 people, have a longer pick-up round and a guide who speaks to the whole bus. Small group tours use minibuses or vans with 8 to 19 seats, collect faster, stop longer, and the guide has time for questions. Small group tours cost more per person. Both see the same places.
Is a private tour in Tenerife worth the price?
For two people it is a luxury. For four or more, compare it with the coach: a private tour is priced per vehicle, so six or eight people often pay about the same per head as a coach seat and get their own guide, their own route and no waiting for other guests. Cruise passengers with a fixed deadline and people with mobility limits also benefit.
Do the bus tours have a toilet on board?
No. The coaches Club Canary works with on Tenerife are slightly smaller than normal touring coaches so they can take the mountain roads, and they have no toilet. There are toilet stops at the villages and viewpoints along the route, and the guide announces them. All coaches have air conditioning.
Are the tours guided in my language?
Most coach tours Club Canary offers are multilingual, with the guide switching between English and other languages such as German, Spanish, French, Italian or Dutch depending on the group and the day. Some tours are English only, including the small group stargazing and the La Palma trip. You choose the guide language when you book, and the language shown for your date is the one that runs.
Can children join the bus tours?
Yes, on most tours. On the coach tours children from 2 to 11 pay the child rate and children under 2 usually travel free on a parent's lap. Some tours have a minimum age or an adult only price, for example the wine tasting, the jeep safari and some stargazing tours. The age rules are on each tour page, and if you are not sure, message Club Canary on WhatsApp with the ages of your children before you book.
What should I bring on a Teide tour?
A warm layer, even in summer. Teide National Park sits above 2,000 metres and can be 10 degrees colder than the coast, with wind. Comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sun cream and water. In winter there can be snow and the road can close at short notice, in which case Club Canary contacts you about a new date or a refund.
Is the Teide cable car included in the bus tours?
No. None of the coach tours include the cable car. Some private tours can include a cable car stop if you buy the ticket in advance, and the guide can advise on timing. Queues and wind closures are common, so the coach tours stay on the accessible parts of the park.
How do I get to La Gomera or La Palma from Tenerife?
By ferry from Los Cristianos, with a guided coach waiting on the other island. Club Canary offers a classic La Gomera day trip with lunch included, a small group La Gomera trip with a fast ferry, and a La Palma day trip with the 2021 volcano. Bring your passport or EU ID card, it is checked at the port.
How does booking work with Club Canary?
You choose the tour and date on the Club Canary website and pay online. For most south tours that is a small deposit, with the rest paid to the guide on the day. For Puerto de la Cruz pick-ups it is the full amount at booking. You receive a confirmation with your pick-up time and point by email. Club Canary is a licensed travel agency in Costa Adeje that books these tours with the local operators who run them, with a Best Price Guarantee and a team you can reach every day.
What happens if a tour is cancelled because of weather?
The operator decides on the day, most often because of wind or snow on the Teide road or rough sea for the ferries. If the operator cancels, Club Canary offers you a new date or a full refund of everything you paid, your choice. We contact you as soon as we know, by WhatsApp or email, usually the evening before or early that morning.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, and Club Canary keeps this fair. Most tours have a free cancellation window, shown on the tour page, and because you normally pay a deposit rather than the full amount, your money at risk is small. Inside the window the deposit is kept, because the seat is confirmed with the operator and often cannot be sold again. A no show or a same day cancellation is never refunded. Illness is not covered either, unless you send an official medical certificate, in which case Club Canary asks the operator for a refund on your behalf. That is why we recommend travel insurance for every holiday.
