Flounder Fuerteventura Politik
Thank you for booking your private trip on the Flounder with Club Canary. Because this is a private hire, the skipper, the crew and the catering are prepared for your group alone, which is why the terms tighten closer to the date. Please have a read before you book.
Changes And Cancellation
- Change your date or cancel free of charge up to 6 days before the trip. Email office@clubcanary.com.
- Cancelling 4 to 6 days before: 40% of your deposit is returned.
- Cancelling 2 to 4 days before: the deposit is retained.
- Cancelling under 48 hours before: an additional fee of 50€ per booked hour applies, as the deposit does not cover the costs already committed.
- A no-show, or cancelling less than 6 hours before: an additional fee of 75€ per booked hour.
Why The Extra Fees Exist
- Everything is prepared in advance for your private hire, including the crew, the food and the drinks.
- A last-minute change means that preparation is wasted and the slot cannot be refilled.

- The captain makes the final call on whether it is safe to sail.
- If bad weather stops the trip, you can pick a new date or take a full refund.
Slut turen tidligt
- If you decide to end the trip early, or you are not feeling well, we cannot provide a refund.

- Seeing whales and dolphins is a bonus rather than a promise.
- When we do find them, they are observed without disturbance and at a respectful distance.

Real talk: two things about the Flounder are undersold and both are worth knowing. First, it genuinely sails. Most boats marketed as a yacht charter just run the engine along the coast. Tell this skipper in advance and he will check the wind and put the sails up properly. It is free, it is quiet, and it feels completely different. Ask for it.
Second, the paella at six hours. Going from 3.5 hours to 6 costs 362.50€ more and turns a long afternoon into a full day with a proper paella on deck. If you are torn between the two, that is the deciding factor, and the longer trip also gives you better odds on the whales.
On the wildlife: the operator says around 70% on the short trip. We quote that as a chance and not a promise, because they are wild animals. If seeing dolphins is the entire reason for your day, the dolphin trip from the same harbour is built for it and has a money-back sighting option.
One last bit of maths: under 9 people, the daily shared sailing at 80€ each is the cheaper way onto this same yacht. From 9 up, the private hire costs less and you choose your own departure time.
