Tuesday 23 February 2027, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The main parade of the Carnaval de Tenerife, this year under the theme Roma Eterna, and a local holiday in the capital. How Your Carnival Tuesday Works
Between about 11:00 and 13:10 depending on your area, at your hotel or a known meeting point nearby. Your exact time and point come by email about two weeks before, once Club Canary has grouped all guests by area.
Carnival traffic is real. Use the toilet before you leave, there is none on the bus. Your host tells you the meeting point for the return and how to reach the tribune. This is a transfer with boarding help, not a guided tour; nobody walks you through town.
Buses park in the zone the authorities assign that day. It is not announced in advance and it can mean a walk of 10 to 25 minutes on a quieter route, away from the main crowd. That is by design, not bad luck.
Floats, comparsas, the Carnival Queen, drums and bands from about 16:00. From your chair or from the street. Leave for food or photos and come back with your ticket.
On arrival each bus is given a departure slot between about 19:00 and 20:00 by the traffic police, to empty the city in waves. Your host tells you your slot. It can be earlier than the bus next to you. The bus cannot wait; if you miss it, the way home is a taxi at your own cost.
Drop-off at the same point you were collected. Staying to party instead? Tell your host, keep your ticket, and find your own way back later.
Pick-Up Areas For The Coso Apoteosis
Club Canary collects from hotels and known meeting points, never from private addresses or apartments. Enter your hotel name when booking, or the nearest hotel if you stay in an apartment. Chair only, no bus? Write: no bus. Because we move hundreds of guests on this day, we group people by area, so your bus makes fewer stops than a normal excursion coach.

Tribune Chairs, The Honest Version
Reserved chairs for the Coso Apoteosis are released by the city to a few authorised companies, and mostly as part of bus packages. Club Canary reserves as many as it can, months ahead, and hands them out in the order people booked. In 2026 every guest who booked with a chair before mid December got one, and guests who booked later did not, because the city released fewer chairs than expected. We refunded the chair part in full. It was painful for everyone, so this year we say it up front: book early if you want to sit.
What a chair is: a simple seat on the official tribune along the parade route, with a toilet area for seated guests, and the right to leave and come back. What it is not: a VIP box, a private zone, or a guarantee that the person in front of you never stands up. The chairs exist to support guests who travel up from the south by bus, and that is how they reach Club Canary: inside the transport packages. A chair without the bus therefore still carries the bus cost, which is why it is priced higher, and the printed price on the official ticket is lower than what you pay Club Canary. That difference is not a reason for a refund or a chargeback, and we explain it here so nobody is surprised.

Coso Apoteosis 2027, Booking Policy
Pago
- Full payment at booking. This day sells out every year and buses and chairs are reserved with partners in advance.
- Groups of 15 or more can ask for an invoice and a payment split before booking.
- Prices can rise when availability drops. A lower price seen elsewhere, or a lower printed value on an official ticket, is not a reason for a refund or a chargeback.
If You Cancel
- More than 45 days before: 100 percent refund. Club Canary starts the bus schedules early for this day, so this is the free window.
- 20 to 45 days before: 90 percent. The 10 percent covers administration and payment costs.
- 12 to 20 days before: 75 percent.
- 5 to 12 days before: 60 percent.
- 1 to 5 days before: 40 percent.
- Less than 24 hours, no-show, or missing the bus at the meeting point: no refund.
- Illness is not covered unless you send an official medical certificate; then Club Canary asks the partner for a refund on your behalf. Travel insurance is recommended.
If The City Cancels
- If the Coso Apoteosis is cancelled by the authorities before departure, for any reason including safety or public order, Club Canary refunds 80 percent. The remaining 20 percent covers bus, staff and payment costs already made. In 2025 the parade was cancelled at the last minute after a serious incident in the city, with guests already on the buses; this rule exists because of that day.
- If the parade is cancelled after arrival in Santa Cruz and the host decides to return before 16:00, 40 percent of the bus price is refunded. Chair refunds follow what the city returns to the authorised companies.
- Rain and normal weather are not grounds for refunds. Only the authorities cancel.
- Changes to pick-up time, parking zone, walking route, parade timing or return slot made by the authorities or by traffic are part of Carnival and not grounds for refunds.
Tribune Chairs
- Chairs are allocated in booking order, subject to the official release. The bus can be guaranteed, the chair cannot.
- If your chair cannot be confirmed you are told as soon as we know and refunded in full for the chair, or offered an alternative.
- A chair means a place in the official seating zone. Exact row, seat number, perfect view and a quiet neighbour are not promised. Groups are seated together whenever possible.
- Do not share your seating ticket outside your group, it carries a personal access code.
On The Bus And In Town
- Follow the host and the driver. Unsafe or disrespectful behaviour means removal without refund.
- No alcohol or illegal substances on the bus. Snacks are fine.
- If you skip the pick-up, leave early, stay in Santa Cruz, or miss the return bus, no partial refund applies. The bus cannot wait for late guests; a taxi back is at your own cost.
- The minibus is adults only, 18 and over, with a driver and no host.
- Club Canary provides the transfer and the chairs. Crowds, noise, visibility, weather and the parade itself are not ours to control and not grounds for refunds.

What is the Coso Apoteosis in Tenerife?
The Coso Apoteosis is the main parade of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, held on Carnival Tuesday along Avenida de Anaga. Floats, comparsas, the Carnival Queen, drums and bands pass for three to four hours in front of around 200,000 people. Club Canary runs private buses to it from the south and from Puerto de la Cruz every year, with an optional tribune chair. All 2027 dates are in the Club Canary Carnival guide.
Why is the Tenerife Carnival later than usual in 2027?
Santa Cruz moved the whole 2027 programme two weeks later than the church calendar, for the first time ever, because the Recinto Ferial was not free in time to build the stage. Carnival Tuesday in Santa Cruz is therefore in the last week of February, and it is a local holiday in the city. Many old websites still show the earlier dates. Club Canary follows the official programme and updates this page when the city changes anything.
How does the Club Canary Coso Apoteosis bus work?
You book online and pay in full. About two weeks before the parade Club Canary emails your pick-up time and meeting point, grouped by hotel area. A private coach with a host at boarding, or a minibus with a driver, collects you late morning, drives about 1.5 hours to Santa Cruz and drops you inside the authorised Carnival bus zone. After the parade you walk back to the bus, leave in the slot assigned by the traffic police, and are dropped at the same point.
What is the difference between the bus and the minibus?
The bus is a 55 seat coach with a Club Canary host at boarding who checks tickets and gets everyone on the right bus. The minibus has 18 seats, fewer stops, more legroom and a quicker exit from the parking zone, but a driver only, no host, and it is solo para adultos. Both have the same authorised access and the same goodie bag. Club Canary has only six minibuses for the Coso Apoteosis, so they sell out first.
Where does Club Canary pick up?
From hotels and known meeting points in Costa Adeje, Playa Paraiso, Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago, Costa del Silencio, Las Galletas, Palm Mar, San Miguel, Golf del Sur and El Medano, plus a separate bus from Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava. Usually yes. Seats are not numbered, so early pick-ups have the first choice. If you board last, ask the Club Canary host or fellow passengers, people are friendly on Carnival day. Groups who want to be sure of sitting together book early and choose the same hotel.
Why is the walk from the bus sometimes long?
Because the authorities decide on the day where the Carnival buses park and do not announce it in advance, for safety. Some years the zone is close to the route, some years it is a 20 minute walk. The route the police give the buses avoids the main crowd, which is why it is quieter and feels longer. Club Canary cannot change it, and we tell you this before you book so it is not a surprise.
Why did my bus leave earlier than the one next to it?
On arrival each bus is given a departure slot by the traffic police, usually in 15 minute blocks over about an hour, so that thousands of people leave Santa Cruz in waves instead of all at once. Your Club Canary host tells you your slot. It is assigned, not chosen, and it is the same for every company. We plan the day so you see the full parade before your slot.
Is a tribune chair guaranteed if I book it?
No. Chairs are released by the city to a few authorised companies, mostly inside bus packages, and the number is not known far in advance. Club Canary reserves as many as possible and allocates them in booking order. In 2026 everyone who booked before mid December got a chair and later bookings did not. If your chair cannot be confirmed, Club Canary tells you as soon as we know and refunds the chair in full. Your bus is never affected. Pressure or threats do not create extra chairs; booking early does.
What exactly is the tribune chair?
A simple reserved seat on the official tribune along the parade route, with a toilet area for seated guests and the right to leave and come back with your ticket. It is not a VIP box and not luxury seating. People may stand up in front of you and children may sit near you. Without a chair you watch from the street like most locals, arriving early for a good spot. Club Canary explains this before you book so nobody expects a private zone.
Will we sit together on the tribune?
Almost always. Club Canary groups every booking together whenever possible. Only very late bookings risk being split if a row is already full, and in that case we tell you before the day.
Why is the printed price on my chair ticket lower than what I paid?
Because the official ticket shows the base seat value set by the organisers. The tribune chairs exist to support guests who come up from the south by bus, and that is how they reach Club Canary: inside the transport packages, with staffing, coordination and reservation costs on top. A chair without the bus still carries the bus cost, which is why it is priced higher. This is explained before you book, and the difference is not a reason for a refund or a chargeback.
Can I book a tribune chair without the bus?
Yes, in limited numbers, for guests who do not need our bus, for example people staying in or near Santa Cruz. Club Canary offers it through a special arrangement with authorised companies, which is why it is priced higher than the chair add-on. The same rule applies: booking order, subject to the official release, full refund if it cannot be confirmed. In the hotel field, write: no bus.
What is in the Club Canary goodie bag?
Every guest on a Club Canary bus or minibus finds a small bag on their seat with the Club Canary collectible card for this event and a small accessory in the year's Carnival theme to wear, so you are not the only one in the street without a costume and our hosts can spot you in the crowd. Chair only guests receive their card at the meeting point.
Can children come?
Yes. Children from 2 to 11 pay the child rate on the bus, under 2 travel free on a lap. The minibus is adults only. Chairs cost the same for children because a chair is a chair. Think honestly about whether a loud, packed, four hour parade suits your child. Club Canary is happy to advise on WhatsApp.
Is the Coso Apoteosis suitable for people with mobility problems?
Honestly, it is hard. The walk from the bus can be 20 minutes, the streets are packed, the tribune has steps and the toilets are basic. Club Canary helps where we can, but we cannot promise comfort. If walking is a problem, the Ritmo y Armonía evening or watching the parade on Televisión Canaria from your hotel may be the better choice.
Is public transport a good alternative on Carnival Tuesday?
Not really. Public buses are packed, taxis are almost impossible to find after the parade and parking in Santa Cruz is closed off. Club Canary buses have authorised access to the Carnival bus zone and grouped hotel pick-ups, which is why they are one of the fastest ways in and out.
Can I stay in Santa Cruz after the parade?
Yes. Tell your Club Canary host or send us a WhatsApp so the bus does not wait for you. There is no price reduction for skipping the return. Taxis and buses back to the south are very hard to find during Carnival, so only stay if you have a plan for the way home.
When do I receive my tickets?
You receive your invoice right after booking. Your bus ticket with the exact pick-up time and point, and your chair ticket if confirmed, arrive by email about two weeks before the parade, once Club Canary has grouped all guests by area and the city has released the chairs. We cannot send times earlier because the schedule is made from all bookings. Do not share a chair ticket outside your group, it carries a personal access code.
When does booking open for the Tenerife Carnival buses?
Club Canary opens the Coso Apoteosis about six to eight months before the parade, as soon as the city publishes the programme. Chairs go in booking order, so the earliest bookings have the best chance of a seat. Prices rise as buses fill and never drop.
Why do I have to pay in full when booking?

Can I book in person instead of online?
Yes. Visit the Club Canary office in the Plaza del Duque shopping centre in Costa Adeje, open every day. Send a WhatsApp before you come so staff in your language are ready. Payment by card or cash, invoice on the spot. The booking itself is still made in our online system, so your tickets arrive by email like everyone else's.
What happens if the city cancels the parade?
If the authorities cancel the Coso Apoteosis before departure, Club Canary refunds 80 percent; the rest covers bus, staff and payment costs already made. If it is cancelled after arrival and the host returns early, 40 percent of the bus price is refunded and chair refunds follow what the city returns. This happened in 2025 after a serious incident in the city, with guests already on the buses, which is why the rule is written in plain words in the booking policy.
What if it rains?
The parade goes ahead in rain. Only the authorities cancel, and only for safety. Bring a light rain layer and something warm for the bus ride home. Weather is not a reason for a refund with Club Canary or any other seller.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Club Canary refunds 100 percent more than 45 days before the parade, because the bus schedules for this day are made early. From 45 to 20 days before it is 90 percent, the 10 percent covers administration and payment costs. After that 75, 60 and 40 percent in the steps shown in the booking policy on this page, and nothing inside 24 hours or for a no-show. Illness needs an official medical certificate. We recommend travel insurance for every holiday.
Is there a guide on the bus?
On the coaches a Club Canary host travels with you, checks tickets and makes sure the right people get on the right bus, because the pick-up stops are chaotic on Carnival Tuesday. That is boarding help, not a guided tour: nobody walks with you in Santa Cruz or explains the parade. The minibuses have a driver only. Be on time at the meeting point; a bus cannot wait and a taxi home is at your own cost.
Can I book a private driver instead of the bus?
Yes. Club Canary works with trusted private drivers who take you from your hotel to Santa Cruz and back, and can even add a Teide stop before the parade. Private cars cannot enter the authorised Carnival bus zone, so they drop you as close as the police allow. Which other Carnival nights can I book with Club Canary?
Two more, both with buses from the south: the Cabalgata Anunciadora on the Friday, the opening night where you walk with the parade, and Ritmo y Armonía on the Saturday, the comparsas on Avenida de Anaga with tribune chairs available. Many guests do the Coso Apoteosis plus one of the two.
