Tenerife Carnival 2027, Coso Apoteosis By Bus From The South

Tuesday 23 February 2027, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The main parade of the Teneriffan karnevaalit, this year under the theme Roma Eterna, and a local holiday in the capital. Club Canary runs private buses from the south and from Puerto de la Cruz to this parade every year, with a host at boarding, drop-off inside the authorised bus zone, a tribune chair if you book early, your Club Canary collectible card, and for 2027 a red Roman cape for a few euros, so our whole group walks in as one. You pay once, you get picked up near your hotel, you are back the same night. Full payment at booking, this day sells out every year.

How Your Carnival Tuesday Works

Pick-up, late morning

Between about 11:00 and 13:10 depending on your area, at your hotel or a known meeting point nearby. Your exact time and point come by email about two weeks before, once Club Canary has grouped all guests by area.

Carnival traffic is real. Use the toilet before you leave, there is none on the bus. Your host tells you the meeting point for the return and how to reach the tribune. This is a transfer with boarding help, not a guided tour; nobody walks you through town.

Buses park in the zone the authorities assign that day. It is not announced in advance and it can mean a walk of 10 to 25 minutes on a quieter route, away from the main crowd. That is by design, not bad luck.

The parade, 3.5 to 4 hours

Floats, comparsas, the Carnival Queen, drums and bands from about 16:00. From your chair or from the street. Leave for food or photos and come back with your ticket.

Back to the bus, assigned slot

On arrival each bus is given a departure slot between about 19:00 and 20:00 by the traffic police, to empty the city in waves. Your host tells you your slot. It can be earlier than the bus next to you. The bus cannot wait; if you miss it, the way home is a taxi at your own cost.

Drop-off at the same point you were collected. A bus with many stops, or heavy traffic out of the city, takes longer; the times on this page are guide times, not a promise. Staying to party instead? Tell your host, keep your ticket, and find your own way back later.

Pick-Up Areas For The Coso Apoteosis

Club Canary collects from hotels and known meeting points, never from private addresses or apartments. Enter your hotel name when booking, or the nearest hotel if you stay in an apartment. Chair only, no bus? Write: no bus. Because we move hundreds of guests on this day, we group people by area, so your bus makes fewer stops than a normal excursion coach.

Tribune Chairs, rehellinen versio

Reserved chairs for the Coso Apoteosis are released by the city to a few authorised companies, and mostly as part of bus packages. Club Canary reserves as many as it can, months ahead, and hands them out in the order people booked. In 2026 every guest who booked with a chair before mid December got one, and guests who booked later did not, because the city released fewer chairs than expected. We refunded the chair part in full. It was painful for everyone, so this year we say it up front: book early if you want to sit. Early means early: bookings for the Coso Apoteosis 2027 opened on this page on 24 September 2026, and chairs go in the order of booking from that day. The city releases the final chair numbers only about three weeks before the parade, so "I booked two months ahead" is, honestly, a late booking for a chair. This date stays on the page all season so nobody has to take our word for it.

What a chair is: a simple seat on the official tribune along the parade route, with a toilet area for seated guests, and the right to leave and come back. What it is not: a VIP box, a private zone, or a guarantee that the person in front of you never stands up. The chairs exist to support guests who travel up from the south by bus, and that is how they reach Club Canary: inside the transport packages. A chair without the bus therefore still carries the bus cost, which is why it is priced higher, and the printed price on the official ticket is lower than what you pay Club Canary. That difference is not a reason for a refund or a chargeback, and we explain it here so nobody is surprised.

We make no money on the capes, we lose a little, and we do it anyway because it is a lot more fun when everyone wears one. The small price is only there so capes go to people who will really wear them. Photos on this page in October, once the first pieces are in our hands.

Kävelymatka ja pysäköintialue. The authorities decide on the day where the buses park, and they do not tell anyone in advance, for safety. Some years it is close, some years it is a 20 minute walk. The route the police give the buses avoids the main crowd, which is why it feels long and quiet. If a 20 minute walk is a problem for you, this is not the right event.

Palautusajan jakso. Each bus gets a departure time between 19:00 and 20:00, assigned on arrival, to get thousands of people out of Santa Cruz without a crush. Your bus may leave at 19:00 while another leaves at 19:45. We cannot choose it, we cannot swap it, and it is not a reason for a refund. We plan the day so you see the full parade before your slot.

It is a street party with 200,000 people. Loud, crowded, full of movement, sometimes chaotic. Most guests love it. Some find it too much. Mobility limits, small children and anyone who dislikes crowds should think twice. Club Canary provides the bus and the chair, not the parade.

Full payment at booking. This day sells out every year and buses and chairs are reserved with partners in advance.

More than 45 days before: 100 percent refund. Club Canary starts the bus schedules early for this day, so this is the free window.

If the Coso Apoteosis is cancelled by the authorities before departure, for any reason including safety or public order, Club Canary refunds 80 percent. The remaining 20 percent covers bus, staff and payment costs already made. In 2025 the parade was cancelled at the last minute after a serious incident in the city, with guests already on the buses; this rule exists because of that day.
If the parade is cancelled after arrival in Santa Cruz and the host decides to return before 16:00, 40 percent of the bus price is refunded. Chair refunds follow what the city returns to the authorised companies.

Is public transport a good alternative on Carnival Tuesday?

Not really. Public buses are packed, taxis are almost impossible to find after the parade and parking in Santa Cruz is closed off. Club Canary buses have authorised access to the Carnival bus zone and grouped hotel pick-ups, which is why they are one of the fastest ways in and out.

Can I stay in Santa Cruz after the parade?

When do I receive my tickets?

When does booking open for the Tenerife Carnival buses?

Club Canary opens the Coso Apoteosis about six to eight months before the parade, as soon as the city publishes the programme. Chairs go in booking order, so the earliest bookings have the best chance of a seat. Prices rise as buses fill and never drop.

Why do I have to pay in full when booking?

Because Club Canary reserves the buses and the chairs with partners months in advance and pays for them whether the seats are used or not. This day sells out every year. Full payment is what makes it possible to guarantee your bus place. The full rules are in the booking policy tällä sivulla.

Can I book in person instead of online?

Yes. Visit the Club Canary office in the Plaza del Duque shopping centre in Costa Adeje, open every day. Send a WhatsApp before you come so staff in your language are ready. What happens if the city cancels the parade?

If the authorities cancel the Coso Apoteosis before departure, Club Canary refunds 80 percent; the rest covers bus, staff and payment costs already made. If it is cancelled after arrival and the host returns early, 40 percent of the bus price is refunded and chair refunds follow what the city returns. This happened in 2025 after a serious incident in the city, with guests already on the buses, which is why the rule is written in plain words in the booking policy.

What if it rains?

The parade goes ahead in rain. Only the authorities cancel, and only for safety. Bring a light rain layer and something warm for the bus ride home. Weather is not a reason for a refund with Club Canary or any other seller.

Is there a guide on the bus?

That is boarding help, not a guided tour: nobody walks with you in Santa Cruz or explains the parade. The minibuses have a driver only. Be on time at the meeting point; a bus cannot wait and a taxi home is at your own cost.

Can I book a private driver instead of the bus?

Private cars cannot enter the authorised Carnival bus zone, so they drop you as close as the police allow.
