⛵ We No Longer Sell Trips On The Eden Catamaran

The Eden Catamaran is not part of the Club Canary collection anymore, so you cannot book it through us.

We have kept this page because people search for the boat by name, and a dead link helps nobody. Instead, here is what else sails from the south coast of Tenerife and what we would suggest.

Scroll down for four alternatives you can book today, plus a straight guide to picking a catamaran trip here. That guide is the bit most booking sites skip.

Eden Catamaran Tenerife, What It Is And What We Recommend Instead

If you have been told about the Eden Catamaran, or seen it mentioned in a hotel lobby, this page gives you the straight version: what this kind of trip is, why Club Canary no longer sells it, and which catamaran trips in south Tenerife we would book ourselves. We have been arranging boat trips here for years, so the comparison further down is from experience, not a brochure.

Short on time? The four alternatives are right below, and the first one is what most of our guests end up on.

What To Book Instead, Available Now

Four options, depending on what kind of day you want. All of them are bookable today with a small deposit.

⭐ Freebird Catamaran

Our most-booked catamaran trip in Tenerife, and the one we recommend first. A proper sailing catamaran rather than a motor boat, which makes a real difference to how the day feels.

  • Ideale per: couples, families, first-timers.
  • Ottenete: sailing, swim stop, food and drinks on board.
  • Why we push it: years of consistent reviews and a crew that actually looks after people.

  • Ideale per: wildlife over sunbathing.
  • Choose by: boat size, duration and departure port.
  • Buono a sapersi: pilot whales live here year round, so sightings are normal.

  • Ideale per: families and easy-going groups.
  • Ottenete: a calm day on the water with time to swim.
  • Buono a sapersi: a solid middle option if the Freebird is full.

Travelling as a group, or just want the boat to yourselves? Private charters from the south coast, from small yachts up to large catamarans.

What Is The Eden Catamaran?

The Eden Catamaran is one of the catamarans operating off the south coast of Tenerife, running the kind of trip most visitors picture: a few hours on the water, a look for whales and dolphins along the coast, and a stop to swim. A calm, relaxed sea journey rather than a party boat.

That is the shape of most catamaran trips here, which is worth knowing before you book. Several boats run near-identical itineraries from the same marinas, so the real differences are the type of boat, how many people are on board, how long you are out, and which port you sail from. The section below walks through all four.

Club Canary works with a selected group of boats rather than listing everything on the island. The Eden Catamaran is not one of them today, and the four trips above are what we would point you to instead.

The Eden Catamaran is a catamaran operating boat trips off the south coast of Tenerife, typically combining coastal cruising, whale and dolphin watching and a swim stop. Club Canary no longer sells trips on this boat and suggests alternatives instead: the Freebird catamaran for a classic sailing day, the Peter Pan catamaran for a relaxed family day, the Tenerife whale watching collection for wildlife-focused trips, and private boat hire for groups who want the whole boat. All four can be booked online with a small deposit through Club Canary.

How To Choose A Catamaran Trip In Tenerife

Most sites list boats and leave you to guess. Here is what actually separates a good day from a mediocre one, in the order it matters.

1. Sailing catamaran or motor catamaran
  • A sailing catamaran cuts the engine and uses the wind. Quieter, smoother, and the part most people remember.
  • A motor catamaran covers more distance in less time, which suits shorter trips and bigger groups.
  • Neither is better, but they feel completely different. Decide this first.
2. How many people are on board
  • This changes the day more than anything else. Forty guests and two hundred guests are not the same trip.
  • Smaller means more space, a shorter queue for the water, and a crew who notice you.
  • If a listing does not say the capacity, ask before you book.
3. Duration, and whether it includes food
  • Two to three hours is a coastal cruise with a swim stop. Fine for an afternoon.
  • Four to five hours usually means lunch on board and a proper day out.
  • Check whether drinks are included or a bar tab. It makes a real difference to the final cost.
4. Which port it leaves from
  • Most south Tenerife trips go from Puerto Colón, Los Cristianos, Las Galletas o Giganti.
  • Pick one near your hotel unless you have a car. A 40 minute taxi each way eats the day.
  • Los Gigantes departures get you closest to the cliffs. Southern ports are better for the whale zone.
5. The thing nobody checks: what happens when it goes wrong
  • Cancelled for weather, a booking mix-up, a missed pickup. It happens on every island.
  • What matters is whether somebody answers the phone and fixes it.
  • This is why we keep a shorter list of boats than some sites. Fewer options, all of them ones we can stand behind.

Boat Trips From Puerto Colón

Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje is the busiest departure point for boat trips in south Tenerife, and it is where a lot of catamarans sail from. If you are staying in Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas or Fañabé, it is the easiest marina to reach.

The reason so much leaves from here is the water just offshore. The stretch between south Tenerife and La Gomera is home to resident pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins all year round, which is unusual and is why Tenerife is one of the better places in Europe for whale watching. You do not need a lucky day or a particular season.

A word on the harbour sellers. Walking up to the marina and buying from a kiosk looks cheaper and often is not. You get whatever boat has space, with no idea of group size or what is included. Book ahead, know what you are getting, and keep somebody on WhatsApp if it goes sideways.

Eden Catamaran Tenerife, Common Questions
Can I book the Eden Catamaran through Club Canary?

No. It is not part of our collection anymore. The four alternatives higher up this page are all bookable today.

Why is it not on Club Canary anymore?

Our collection changes over time. We work with a selected group of boats rather than listing everything on the island, and this one is not part of it today.

Which catamaran trip do you recommend instead?

La Freebird catamaran for most people. It is a real sailing catamaran with years of consistent reviews. Travelling as a family and want something easy-going? The Peter Pan catamaran is a good shout. If you specifically want whales and dolphins, browse the viaggi di osservazione delle balene invece.

Where do catamarans leave from in south Tenerife?

Mostly Puerto Colón in Costa Adeje, plus Los Cristianos, Las Galletas and Los Gigantes. Pick the one closest to your hotel unless you have a car, because the transfer time adds up on both ends.

Is Tenerife good for whale watching?

Yes, genuinely. Pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins live in the channel between south Tenerife and La Gomera all year, so sightings are normal rather than lucky. Most operators run a responsible, licensed approach.

Is it cheaper to book at the harbour?

Usually not, and you lose control of what you get. Marina sellers put you on whatever boat has space, so you find out the group size and what is included when you step aboard. Booking ahead costs the same or less and you know exactly what you booked.

I already booked the Eden Catamaran somewhere else. What now?

Then your booking is with them and you deal with them directly. We cannot see, change or help with a reservation made through another company.

L'Opinione Sincera di Club Canary

Parola schietta dal vostro team locale delle Isole Canarie

We could have deleted this page when the Eden Catamaran left our collection. We kept it because people search the name, and sending them to a 404 helps nobody.

Here is the useful thing we can tell you. In Tenerife the boat matters less than people expect. Half a dozen catamarans run near-identical itineraries from the same marinas, so the difference between a great day and a forgettable one comes down to the type of boat, the number of people on board, and the crew looking after you.

That is why we keep a shorter list than some sites. Fewer boats, all of them ones we book guests onto every week and hear good things back about.

Want the easy answer? Take the Freebird, oppure il Peter Pan if you are travelling with family. Both are safe bets.

Different boat, same ocean, better day. Just ask us which one.
