Your First Surf In Famara
Caleta de Famara is one of the friendliest places in Lanzarote to learn, a wide, sandy beach with gentle beginner waves and a relaxed surf-town feel. These lessons are built for beginners and first-timers: your instructor starts with the basics on the sand, then helps you into the water to catch your first waves. If you have surfed a little before, you are welcome too, just tell your instructor your level so the session suits you. Nobody can promise specific waves or a set number of rides, but the goal is a safe, genuinely fun first taste of surfing.

Learn in a small, friendly group with plenty of instructor attention. A minimum of 2 people is needed to run.
One-to-one focus at your own pace, and possible for younger surfers from age 8. Ideal for families or a faster start.

Ages, Meeting, What To Bring & Payment

- You must be able to zwemmen and have a basic level of fitness. This is an active session in the ocean.
- Small groups with plenty of instructor attention (a guideline of about 7 guests per instructor, confirmed locally). A minimum of 2 participants is needed for a lesson to run.
- Av. las Bajas, 103, 35558 Caleta de Famara. Openen in Google Maps. Please arrive 15 minuten te vroeg. Parking can be limited, so come early or take a taxi.
- Swimwear (worn under the wetsuit), a towel and sunscreen. Everything else for surfing is provided.
- The balance is paid on the day by contant geld, bankoverschrijving of Bizum. There is no card reader on site, so please do not rely on card payment.

- Lessons depend on safe sea and weather conditions. If the instructor cancels because conditions are dangerous, you are offered another date or a full refund.

Your lesson is run by Momo Surf School, a local surf school based right in Caleta de Famara, the heart of Lanzarote's surf scene. If you have ever fancied trying surfing, Famara is a lovely place to start. It is a proper surf beach with space and gentle beginner waves, and a good instructor makes all the difference on your first go, you will likely stand up sooner than you think.
Two honest notes: you do need to be able to swim and be reasonably active, this is not a sit-back activity, and nobody can promise the waves or a set number of rides on the day. Also remember there is no card machine on the beach, so bring cash or be ready for a transfer or Bizum.
Come for a fun first surf with a friendly local school, not a pro training camp, and you will have a great time.
