We will be completely clear, because plenty of websites are not. No buggy enters Timanfaya National Park. No quad, no hire car, no private vehicle of any kind. The only way in is the official park coach, the Ruta de los Volcanes, which you buy at the park gate.
What you get instead is the ring around it, and it is spectacular: the scenic roads through the Natural Park of the Volcanoes, the crater country, the La Geria vineyards and the volcanic coast. Those are two different protected areas. The National Park is coach access only. The Natural Park around it is open road, and that is the part you steer yourself.
Our honest advice: do both. Visit the National Park separately on its own morning, then take the buggy for the landscape, the craters and the freedom. No. This is a fully on-road scenic tour on smooth paved roads, so there is no dust, no rough terrain and no need for a bandana. The focus is the volcanic landscape and the views, driven at a relaxed pace.

Up to 4 people ride together in one buggy, which suits a family, two couples or four friends. There is room for up to 2 drivers who can swap during the tour.
The price is per buggy, not per person, so a group of four shares the cost. A couple can also take a buggy to themselves and enjoy the extra space.
Booking for more than four? Club Canary simply reserves several buggies together, for example two buggies for a group of up to 8.

Each driver needs an original driving licence. That means a physical card, or a digital licence such as Gov.uk or DGT together with your physical passport or ID. Photos or copies alone are not accepted.
Drivers must be 21 or over and have held the licence for at least 2 years. Up to 2 people can drive one buggy.
Passengers, including children, can join from age 7. A child booster seat is provided when needed. No alcohol or drugs before driving.
Waar begint de tour en is een hoteltransfer beschikbaar?
The meeting point is near the camel and horse-riding centre by Yaiza, with free parking. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. Standard departures run at 09:30 and 13:15.
Optional round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off is 5€ per person, paid on arrival, available from Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Puerto Calero. Pickup is usually about 35 minutes before your start time.
When booking, enter your hotel name rather than an address. If you are in an Airbnb, write the nearest hotel and the Club Canary team will confirm your exact point.

Wat moet ik meenemen en dragen?
Bring the original driving licence for each driver and your Club Canary ticket. Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, as flip-flops are not allowed for drivers.
Sunglasses and sun cream are worth having, and a light jacket is a good idea year-round because the buggy is open-top.
You do not need a bandana or old clothes for this tour, because it stays on paved roads and there is no dust. That is only needed on the off-road Lanzarote Buggy Safari.
How long is the tour, and is it suitable for families?
The tour lasts about 2.5 hours including the briefing and the photo stops, so it leaves you most of the day free.
It works well for families. Children can ride from age 7, a parent drives, and everyone sits together in the same buggy. Because the route is on smooth paved roads rather than rough tracks, it is far gentler than an off-road trip.
It is not suitable for pregnant travellers or anyone with back or neck problems.
Can we book buggies for a bigger group or a private tour?
Yes. The price is per buggy, so a bigger group simply books several buggies together. It works well for a birthday, a stag or hen group, a family reunion or a company outing.
Club Canary can also arrange private buggy excursions and team-building days for larger groups.

How does payment work, and is the buggy insured?
You reserve online with a small deposit and pay the balance on the day at the base, by cash or card. The deposit is part of the total price, not an extra.
All buggies are fully insured and no security deposit is required, so nothing is blocked on your card.
Club Canary applies a Best Price Guarantee on this tour, so you never pay more than booking elsewhere.
Wat is het annuleringsbeleid?
Cancel for free up to 48 hours before the tour, or up to 4 days before for bookings of 4 or more buggies.
After that: cancel 24 to 48 hours before and you lose the deposit only. Cancel 12 to 24 hours before and you lose the deposit plus 60€ per buggy. Cancel under 12 hours before, fail to show up or arrive too late, and you lose the deposit and still pay 90% of the balance, because the buggy and guide are reserved and paid for your group either way.
The only exception is a doctor or hospital letter dated the same day, and that covers the person who is ill rather than the whole group. If the operator cancels for unsafe weather, you choose a new date or a full refund.

- Minder dan 12 uur van tevoren, niet komen opdagen, of te laat arriveren: je verliest de volledige aanbetaling en betaalt nog steeds 90% van het aankomstsaldo. Alleen de 10% voor brandstof die u niet gebruikt, wordt kwijtgescholden. We sturen een betaallink.
- De buggy en gids zijn hoe dan ook voor uw groep gereserveerd en betaald, dus de aanbetaling alleen kan nooit een late annulering dekken.
Geen excuus, op één uitzondering na
- Verkeer, een ongeval onderweg, een gemiste ophaalservice of simpelweg te laat komen zijn uw eigen verantwoordelijkheid. Hiervoor wordt geen restitutie verleend.
- De enige uitzondering is een echte brief van een arts of ziekenhuis, van dezelfde datum, waarin staat dat de persoon niet aan de activiteit kan deelnemen.
- Belangrijk: een doktersverklaring dekt alleen die ene persoon, niet de hele groep. Als vier van jullie bijvoorbeeld twee buggy's hebben geboekt en één persoon is echt ziek, mag er maximaal één buggy worden aangepast, en zelfs dat hangt van de situatie af. Eén zieke persoon annuleert niet de boeking van de hele groep.
Rijvereisten
- Elke chauffeur heeft een origineel rijbewijs (een fysieke kaart, of een digitaal rijbewijs plus fysiek paspoort of ID). Bestuurders moeten 21+ met een rijbewijs van ten minste 2 jaar.
- Geen alcohol of drugs voor het rijden. Personen die niet in staat zijn om veilig te rijden, kan de toegang worden geweigerd, zonder restitutie.
Weer & veiligheid
- Als de tour door de touroperator wordt geannuleerd vanwege onveilig weer, wordt u een nieuwe datum of een volledige terugbetaling aangeboden. U verliest nooit geld wanneer de operator annuleert.
