The Kalima Kat is a private catamaran you charter as a whole boat from Puerto Colón in the south of Tenerife. Just your group, the whole deck to yourselves, and a food menu and drinks included in the price. Club Canary books it with a small deposit and you pay the rest on the day.
This is the value option for a bigger group. The price is for the whole boat, so the more of you there are, the better it works out, and food and drinks are already in. The Kalima Kat Private Charter Experience
Set sail along the south coast of Tenerife on the Kalima Kat, a catamaran that is yours alone for the trip. Departing from Puerto Colón, it is a relaxed day at sea: room to spread out, food and drinks served on board, and a real chance to see whales and dolphins along the way.

Kalima Kat Prices, 3 Hours Or 6 Hours
Two trip lengths, both private, both with a food menu, drinks, a snorkel stop with gear and whale and dolphin watching included. The price is for the whole boat and rises slightly with group size, because the catering scales with the number of guests.
The group maths, because this is where it wins. The price is per boat, not per person, so it gets better the bigger your group is.
3 timer: at 22 people it works out at roughly 41€ each, with food and drinks included. At 16 people it is around 55€ each. At 12 it is around 71€ each.
6 hours: at 22 people it is roughly 77€ each for a full day at sea with two menus and drinks.

⚠️ The 22 limit is hard, and 22 is a squeeze. The boat is licensed for 22 people and not one more, and children and babies count as passengers. But a licence is not the same as comfort. Club Canary would say this boat is comfortable up to about 16 people. Between 17 and 22 it still works, you will just be sitting closer together. If your group is 23 or more, the Kalima Kat cannot take you and we will find you a bigger boat.
Setting expectations properly. This is not a luxury yacht and we are not going to dress it up as one. The Kalima Kat is the budget way to get a whole boat to yourselves, which is a genuinely good thing if that is what you are after. You get privacy, space, food and drinks for one price, on an older catamaran with a straightforward setup.
If you want something sleek, fast or modern, say so and we will show you the boats that actually are. We would rather move you to the right one than have you arrive at the pontoon expecting something else.
Food And Drinks Are Included
Food used to be an upgrade on this charter. It is not any more. A full menu and drinks now come with the price, and you simply choose which menu you want when you book. Every menu is prepared for the whole group, with portions based on your party size.
On a 6-hour charter you get two menus, not one. Most groups take the tapas earlier in the day and a paella later, which spaces the eating out across the trip. Choose both in the booking form.
Drinks with every menu: soft drinks, beer, white wine, cava and water, served on board through the trip.
One menu per group, not per person. The whole boat eats the same menu, so pick the one that suits the most people. On a 6-hour charter you pick two.
Allergies or a special diet? Tell us when you book and we will pass it to the crew before the day. The vegetarian menu covers most cases, but flag anything serious in advance rather than on the boat.
How Far Can The Kalima Kat Actually Go?
Here is the part other pages will not tell you, and it is the single most useful thing on this listing.
The Kalima Kat is a comfortable boat, but it is not a fast one. It is an older catamaran and it cruises slowly. That is completely fine for what most people want, which is a relaxed day on the water along the south coast, but it does set a limit on distance.
The 3-hour charter covers the coast around Costa Adeje, with time to look for whales and dolphins and a stop to swim and snorkel. That is a full, unhurried trip.
The 6-hour charter gives you more coastline, a longer swim stop and a much slower pace. It is the one to pick if your group wants a proper day rather than a quick outing.
Los Gigantes is not possible in 6 hours. To reach the cliffs and get back on this boat you need 8 timer, and there is no shortcut around that. Anyone promising you Los Gigantes on a shorter trip on a boat like this is either rushing you there and straight back, or not being honest about the timing.
Want the cliffs? Either ask us about an 8-hour charter, or take a faster boat that is built for that run. We would rather set this up properly than sell you a trip that disappoints.
Is The Kalima Kat Right For Your Group?
Yes if: you are a group of roughly 12 to 16 people and you want the whole boat with food and drinks sorted for one clear price. That is the sweet spot.
Yes if: you want a relaxed, sociable day at sea rather than a sleek boat or a fast one. Room to sit, eat, swim and talk.
Yes if: you are watching the budget and per-head cost matters more than the boat being new.
Workable if: you are 17 to 22. It is legal and it happens often, you will just be sitting closer together than you would at 16.
Probably not if: you are a couple or a group of four. The per-person cost is high and there are nicer boats at that size.
Probably not if: you want Los Gigantes, speed, or a luxury yacht feel. This is an older, slower catamaran and we would rather tell you now.
Worth knowing: the trip cannot be extended on the day, because the boat runs three charters. If you think you will want longer, book the 6 hours from the start.
Not possible if: your group is 23 or more. The limit is strict.

Timings And Running Late
- If you arrive late, the time is taken off your trip, it is not added on at the end.
- A trip cannot be extended on the day, even if everyone is having a great time. The boat usually runs three charters a day, so it has to be back for the next group. We are sorry, it is simply how the day is scheduled.
- Want longer? Book the 6-hour charter instead, or ask us before the day.
Sunset Charters
- A sunset departure is possible but carries a 150€ surcharge, because the crew works beyond their normal hours.

We will be straight about what this is. The Kalima Kat is an older, slower catamaran, and it is the budget way to get a whole boat to yourselves rather than a luxury yacht. What it does well is carry a group for one clear price with the food and drinks already sorted, which is exactly what a lot of groups actually want.
The maths is the point. At 22 people a 3-hour charter is around 41€ each with a menu and drinks included, and there is not much else in Puerto Colón that does that. At two or four people the same boat looks expensive per head, and we would rather send you to a smaller, nicer one.
Three things worth repeating. It is licensed for 22 but comfortable for about 16, so know which end of that you are at. Los Gigantes needs 8 hours on this boat, so if someone offers you the cliffs in six, ask them how. And the trip cannot be extended on the day, because the boat runs three charters, so book the 6 hours if you think you will want longer.
Big group, relaxed day, everything included, no pretence. That is what this one is for.
