Lanzarote Buggy Safari, Quick Facts
Lanzarote Buggy Safari, The Maverick X3 Turbo Off-Road Experience
This is the fast one. Drive a Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo, 173 horsepower and one of the most powerful buggies on the island, across dusty dirt tracks and open volcanic countryside. Road sections to get you there, then real off-road where you feel the speed and the dust. Two seats, so grab your partner or a friend and take turns at the wheel. About 3 hours of it, from 230€ per buggy.
This is the off-road, action side of Lanzarote. Want the relaxed scenic drive to the volcanoes and vineyards instead? That is our sightseeing tour, we split them into two so it is clear which is which.
Most sites bury this in a wall of confusing product names. We keep it simple. This is the powerful X3 Turbo off-road safari, the fast, dusty one. Pick it, see exactly what you get, and book in a minute.
Book online with a small deposit and pay the balance to the guide on the day. Best Price Guarantee, so you never pay more, and a real local team on WhatsApp if you have any questions.
From 230€ per buggy. 2 seats, swap drivers on the way. Optional hotel pickup from 5€ per person.
Feel The Power, Eat The Dust
This is the tour for people who want action, not a gentle sightseeing drive. You get behind the wheel of a Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo, a proper high-performance buggy with 173 horsepower, and follow a guide across the wild, dusty side of Lanzarote. There are smooth road sections to link it together, then real off-road dirt tracks where the buggy comes alive. Expect dust, expect speed, and expect to come back grinning.
The buggy has 2 seats, so bring your partner or a friend and swap the driving during the tour. It is automatic and easy to handle, with a full safety briefing before you set off, so you do not need any off-road experience. Just bring some energy and clothes you do not mind getting dusty.
Die RouteWhere The Off-Road Safari Goes
You drive a mix of roads and off-road dirt tracks through the countryside around Puerto Calero, Tías, San Bartolomé, Masdache and La Asomada, with a break halfway. The exact route can shift with conditions, but this is what a typical safari looks like.
Check-in near Yaiza, a safety briefing and how to handle the X3 Turbo. Depart 09:30 or 13:15.
Smooth stretches through Puerto Calero, Tías and San Bartolomé to link the off-road parts together.
The fun part. Dusty countryside trails around Montaña Blanca, Masdache and La Asomada where the buggy really moves.
A 25-minute break for the toilet, a rest and a snack or drink if you want (food and drink not included).
One or two short stops in the countryside for pictures and a chat with the guide.
Return to the meeting point, dusty and buzzing, after about 3 hours.
The Maverick X3 Turbo, One Of The Most Powerful Buggies On The Island
You drive the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo, a 173 horsepower off-road machine built for exactly this kind of terrain. Wide stance, big off-road tyres, proper suspension, and enough power to make the dirt tracks a real thrill. It has 2 seats, so you and your partner or friend swap the driving during the tour. It is automatic, so no clutch or gears, and you get a full briefing and practice first. No off-road experience needed, just respect the guide and the machine does the rest.
🌋 Prefer The Scenic Drive Instead?
This is the fast, dusty off-road safari. If what you want is a relaxed drive to see the volcanoes, the Timanfaya area and the La Geria vineyards on smooth roads, that is our separate sightseeing tour, in a comfortable buggy that seats up to 4. Two very different days out, both brilliant. Can't decide? Do both, one for the views and one for the adventure.
See The Timanfaya Sightseeing TourPerfect For Couples And Thrill Seekers
The X3 Turbo is a 2-seat buggy, so it is made for couples and pairs of friends who want a thrill together. One drives, one rides, then you swap. It is a favourite for people who have done a gentle buggy tour before and want something with real power this time. Booking a few buggies for a group of friends? We can arrange several together, just message us with your group size, or email events@clubcanary.com for group and company bookings.

Lanzarote Buggy Safari, Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask us most about the off-road X3 Turbo safari. Still unsure? Message our local team on WhatsApp, wir helfen schnell.
Will I get dusty on the safari?
Yes, and that is the whole point. The off-road sections are dusty and the X3 Turbo is fast, so you will get dirty. Safety goggles are included, and we recommend a bandana or buff for your face, which you can buy on site. Do not wear good clothes, come in something you do not mind getting covered in dust. You will come back grinning.
How many people fit in the buggy, and can children come?
The Maverick X3 Turbo has 2 seats, so it is one driver and one passenger, ideal for a couple or two friends who want to take turns. Children can join as passengers from age 7. Booking for a group? The price is per buggy, so a group of friends simply books several buggies together. Message us with your group size and we will arrange it.
What are the driver and licence requirements?
To drive you need an original driving licence, either a physical card, or a digital licence such as Gov.uk or DGT plus your physical passport or ID. A photo or copy alone is not accepted. Drivers must be 21 or over with a licence held for at least 2 years. No alcohol or drugs before driving. Passengers, including children from age 7, do not need a licence.
Where does the safari go?
You drive a mix of roads and off-road dirt tracks through the countryside around Puerto Calero, Tías, San Bartolomé, Montaña Blanca, Masdache and La Asomada, with a 25-minute stop at Gran Karting for the toilet and a rest. The exact route can shift a little with conditions or local events, but the guide always keeps it a fun, dusty ride. This safari does not go to Timanfaya, that is our separate scenic sightseeing tour.
Where does the tour start, and is hotel pickup available?
The meeting point is near the camel and horse-riding centre by Yaiza, with free parking, and you should arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. Optional round-trip hotel pickup and drop-off is 5€ per person, paid on arrival, from Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Costa Teguise and Puerto Calero. When you book, enter your hotel name, not an address, or the nearest hotel if you are in an Airbnb.
What is included, and are the photos free?
Included: your guided Maverick X3 Turbo, a local guide, the safety briefing, safety goggles, a child booster seat when needed, fuel, and full insurance with no security deposit. The guide also takes photos on your own phone, so your photos are free. Not included: food and drinks at the Gran Karting stop, and a bandana or buff, which you can buy on site.
Can I book the cheaper Maverick Trail buggy instead?
On this page we showcase the powerful X3 Turbo, but the operator also runs the lighter, more affordable Maverick Trail buggy on request. The Maverick Trail is from 130€ for the 2 hour tour and from 170€ for the 3 hour tour. It is not on the online calendar, so just message us on WhatsApp and we will book it for you manually. Tell us which one you want and your preferred date.
Wie lautet die Stornierungsbedingungen?
Cancel for free up to 48 hours before, or 4 days before for 4 or more buggies. After that: cancel 24 to 48 hours before and you lose the deposit only; cancel 12 to 24 hours before and you lose the deposit plus 60€ per buggy; cancel under 12 hours before, no-show or arrive too late and you lose the deposit and still pay 90% of the balance, because the buggy and guide are reserved for you. The only exception is a same-day doctor letter, which only covers the person who is ill, not the whole group.
Buchungs- und Stornierungsbedingungen
Deposit & Bezahlung

- Die einzige Ausnahme ist ein echtes Arzt- oder Krankenhausattest, vom selben Datum, stating that the person cannot take part in the activity.
- Important: a doctor letter only covers that one person, not the whole group. For example, if four of you booked two buggies and one person is genuinely ill, at most one buggy may be adjusted, and even that depends on the situation. One sick person does not cancel the whole group's booking.
Fahranforderungen
- Each driver needs an Originalführerschein (a physical card, or a digital licence plus physical passport or ID). Drivers must be 21+ mit einer seit mindestens 2 Jahre.
- No alcohol or drugs before driving. Anyone unfit to drive safely may be refused, with no refund.
Wetter & Sicherheit
- If the tour is cancelled by the operator for unsafe weather, you are offered a new date or a full refund. You never lose money when the operator cancels.

Die Ehrliche Meinung von Club Canary
Ehrliche Worte von eurem lokalen Team von den Kanarischen Inseln
If you want power and dust, this is the one. The X3 Turbo has 173 horsepower and it feels it on the dirt tracks, way more of a thrill than a standard buggy. Two seats, so you and your partner take turns, and you come back covered in dust with a big grin. It is the fun, fast side of Lanzarote.
Here is the honest bit so there are no surprises: it is about 60% road and 40% off-road. Lanzarote simply does not have endless dirt tracks, and the volcanoes are protected national park where nobody can drive off-road. So it is a real dusty ride, just not three solid hours of dirt. If you would rather see the volcanoes and vineyards on a relaxed scenic drive, that is our Timanfaya sightseeing tour.
Power, dust, two seats, one easy booking. Message us if you are not sure which tour fits you.
