Ages 6 and up, shallow calm water, a life jacket so nobody has to tread water, and you walk in from the beach rather than climbing off a boat. Fifty minutes is about right before small people get cold.
The honest part is about location. Isla de Lobos is the famous snorkelling spot on this island and this excursion does not go there. If Lobos is what you pictured, take the Oby Freebird catamaran instead, which actually lands on the island for about an hour. La Lajita is the practical choice if you are in the south and want a guide.
And if you already own a mask, swim confidently and are staying on a decent beach, you can just walk into the sea for free. We would rather say that than pretend otherwise. What you are paying for here is a guide who knows where the fish are, gear that does not leak, and a lift both ways.
