How Parasailing in Gran Canaria Really Works
Here is the honest bit, because most sites do not explain it: this is a shared boat activity, not a private charter. You head out from Puerto Rico with a few other small groups, and everyone takes turns flying. The whole trip lasts around 45 minutės, and your own time in the air is about 10 minutes on the 150m rope or 12 minutes on the 300m rope.
And that is a good thing. You are on the water far longer than the flight itself, the boat ride is part of the fun, and you get to watch your friends fly and cheer them on. Take off and landing happen gently right on the boat, so most people stay completely dry.
Wear your swimwear. You take off and land on the boat, so you stay dry unless you want a splash. Fancy dipping your toes at the end? Just tell the guide.
Up to 3 people fly together on one parachute. Book 1 and you fly solo, book 2 and you fly as a pair, book 3 and all three go up together. Bigger groups share the boat and fly in separate rounds (for example 2 and 2), so nobody misses out. On the 300m flight you can book up to 8 people this way.

You do not need any experience, and you do not even need to swim, because you wear a life jacket the whole time and take off and land on the boat. Nervous about heights? Many first-timers say the flight actually feels calm and peaceful once they are up.
Parasailing or Paragliding, What's the Difference?
People often mix these up. Skraidymas parasparniu (also called parascending), which is this activity, means being towed behind a boat over the sea under a parachute, with take off and landing on the boat. Times, Ages, What to Bring & Meeting Point
- Every day at 9:30, 14:15 and 14:45. Times can shift a little with the weather and sea.
- You share the boat with a few small groups and take turns flying. The whole trip is around 45 minutės, with about 10 minutes in the air on the 150m rope or 12 minutes on the 300m rope.
- Iki 3 people per parachute, and the price is per flight. Groups of 4 or more fly in separate rounds on the same boat.
- From 12 metų, children fly joined by an adult. Younger children may ride along on the boat, message us to check. No experience is needed, and you do not have to swim, you wear a life jacket and take off and land on the boat.
- Reserve with a small deposit, pay the rest on the day in cash or by card, and show your Club Canary ticket on your phone or printed.
- Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen. Shoes go into the safe box at the harbour. Big bags and alcohol are not allowed on board.
- Avoid a heavy meal in the hour before. Parasailing is not recommended during pregnancy. The crew speaks English and Spanish.
- Puerto Riko uostas, in front of Restaurant Grill Costa Mar, at the corner of the commercial pier. Look for the big yellow flag (Puerto Base, 35130 Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas). What should I bring and wear for parasailing?
For your Club Canary parasailing trip, wear beach clothes and swimwear, and bring a towel and sunscreen. Leave big bags at your accommodation, and note that alcohol is not allowed before the activity. Photos of your flight are available for 25€ on the day if you want them.
What if the weather is bad, or I need to cancel my parasailing?
With Club Canary you only ever risk the small deposit, never the full amount, if your plans change. If parasailing cannot run because of unsafe weather or sea conditions, you are offered a new date or a full refund. Your safety always comes first.
