A Quad Tour In The North Of Tenerife
Staying in Puerto de la Cruz and want a real quad adventure? You do not need to travel all the way south. Almost every other quad tour on the island starts near Costa Adeje or Las Américas, an hour away by motorway. This is the only one that leaves directly from the north, so you spend your time riding, not driving to the start. It is perfect for exploring the green valleys, volcanic roads and local villages of the north.
Small Groups, Easy And Safe
The quads are automatic, so you just accelerate and brake. Before you set off, the team gives a clear safety briefing and a short practice, so first-timers feel confident fast. Groups stay small, around 4 to 5 quads per guide, so it feels personal and safe. Most riders have never driven a quad before and love it.

Whether you want volcano views or off-road fun, there is a route for you. Both include a snack and a drink at a scenic stop, and both come with photos and a video of your ride, taken by the guide and sent to you free.
Route 1, Teide Volcano Ride
About 3 hours, from 135€- Van up to the mountain base. We drive you by van from Puerto de la Cruz up to our mountain base near the national park, so you skip the city traffic and start right in nature.
- Winding mountain roads. Ride up through green valleys and Canarian pine forest on smooth, paved roads.
- Boven de wolken. Climb past 2200 metres into the volcanic, lunar landscape of the Teide National Park.
- Photo stops. Stop at the finest viewpoints for photos with Mount Teide and the famous sea of clouds behind you.
- Snack stop. Relax with a snack and a drink in nature before heading back.
- Fully paved. This route is 100% asphalt, there is no off-road inside the protected park, but the views are the real reason to go.
- Goed om te weten. It gets cold at altitude, so bring a jacket. We can lend one if you do not have one. Best pick if you have not seen Teide yet.
Route 2, North Off-Road Adventure
About 2.5 hours, from 120€- Straight from Puerto de la Cruz. Gear up at the base and ride out through the real north of the island.
- Mixed route. Scenic local roads with ocean views, then dirt tracks through banana plantations and black volcanic sand.
- Real off-road. At least 30 minutes of pure off-road driving on dirt trails, the fun, dusty part.
- Hidden spots. Pass quiet villages and a quiet northern beach, with a viewpoint stop over the valley.
- Snack stop. A snack and a drink at the viewpoint before the ride home.
- Goed om te weten. Wear clothes you do not mind getting a little dusty. Great pick if you have already seen Teide, or paired with the Puerto de la Cruz Teide stargazing trip.

This is the only guided quad tour that starts in the north of Tenerife, so there are no long transfers from the south. Since late 2025, Club Canary works with a licensed local team in Puerto de la Cruz. Choose the Teide volcano route or the north off-road route.

- The base is in a free supermarket car park, open daily 08:30 to 21:30, so parking is easy by car or taxi. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
- Single quad is 1 person, double quad is 2 people, never more than 2 per quad.
- All quads are automatic. No experience is needed, the team explains everything and you do a short practice first.
- Bestuurders moeten 18+ met een geldige B car licence, physical and original. Photos, photocopies and UK provisional licences are not accepted.
- Passagiers van 7 jaar old, able to reach the footrests.
- Max 175 kg per quad (driver plus passenger). On a double, the passenger can drive too with a valid B licence, for a small insurance supplement at the base.
- Not suitable during pregnancy, or with back or neck problems.
- Closed shoes are required, no flip-flops or sandals. Long trousers are recommended.
- For the Teide route it gets cold at altitude, so bring a jacket. For off-road, wear clothes you do not mind getting dusty.
- Guides speak English and Spanish, and mixed groups are handled naturally.
- Show your Club Canary ticket on your phone or printed. Bring your original ID or passport and driving licence.

Welke route moet ik kiezen, de Teide of off-road?

De route is 100% geasfalteerd; binnen het beschermde park is er geen offroad-traject. Kies de noordelijke offroad-route voor het plezier en het stoffige rijden, met minstens 30 minuten op onverharde paden door bananenplantages en rustige dorpjes. Heb je de Teide al gezien? Heb ik een rijbewijs of ervaring nodig om een quad te besturen?
Er is geen quad-ervaring vereist. De quads zijn automatisch en het team geeft een volledige veiligheidsbriefing en een korte oefensessie voordat je gaat rijden. Bestuurders moeten 18 jaar of ouder zijn en in het bezit zijn van een geldig, fysiek B-autorijbewijs als origineel document. Foto's, fotokopieën en Britse 'provisional' rijbewijzen worden niet geaccepteerd. Passagiers kunnen meedoen vanaf 7 jaar.
Is het ophalen van het hotel inbegrepen, of kom ik zelf naar de locatie?
Dit is een tour waarbij je zelf naar de locatie reist. Je gaat op eigen gelegenheid naar het trefpunt aan de Calle Aceviño in Puerto de la Cruz, waar gratis geparkeerd kan worden op een supermarktparkeerplaats, gemakkelijk te bereiken met de auto of taxi. Voor de Teide-route brengt een busje je vervolgens naar de voet van de berg, zodat je de stadsdrukte ontwijkt. Zorg dat je 15 minuten voor je begintijd aanwezig bent.
Wat is inbegrepen in de quadtocht?
Je krijgt een begeleide quadtocht met een goed onderhouden automatische quad, een helm en een volledige veiligheidsbriefing, en een professionele Engels- en Spaanstalige gids in een kleine groep. Een snack en een frisdrank bij een schilderachtige stop zijn inbegrepen, plus foto's en een video van je rit, gemaakt door de gids en gratis naar je verzonden. Voor de Teide-route zijn jassen en handschoenen beschikbaar als je die nodig hebt.
Boekings- en annuleringsvoorwaarden
Deposit en betaling
- Je reserveert met een kleine aanbetaling. De rest betaal je op de dag zelf. De aanbetaling maakt deel uit van de totale prijs.
Uw gratis annuleringsperiode
- 1 tot 3 personen: gratis tot 48 uur voor de reis.
- 4 tot 7 personen: gratis tot 4 dagen voor.
- 8 of meer personen: gratis tot 7 dagen voor.
- Grote groepen zijn lastig last-minute aan te vullen. Dat is de enige reden. Als uw groep alleen maar kleiner wordt, laat het ons dan ten minste 48 uur van tevoren weten en we verlagen de prijs. Om te annuleren, e-mail office@clubcanary.com.
Nadat je gratis periode is afgelopen
- Zeg je op na je gratis periode, maar meer dan 24 uur van tevoren? Je bent je aanbetaling kwijt. Je betaalt verder niets.
- Annuleer je tussen 12 en 24 uur van tevoren? Dan verlies je je aanbetaling en moet je nog steeds 80% van het resterende bedrag betalen. We sturen je een betalingslink.
- Zeg je minder dan 12 uur van tevoren af, kom je niet opdagen, of ben je te laat? Dan ben je je aanbetaling kwijt en betaal je alsnog het volledige resterende bedrag. We sturen je een betaallink.
- Onze partner brengt ons hoe dan ook de volledige prijs voor uw gereserveerde plaatsen in rekening. Daarom kan de aanbetaling alleen een late annulering nooit dekken.
De Enige Uitzondering
- De enige uitzondering is een officiële doktersverklaring of ziekenhuispapieren waaruit blijkt dat u niet kunt deelnemen. Deze moet een datum hebben van vóór de reis of van dezelfde ochtend. Een verklaring die na de reis is opgesteld, telt niet mee. We hebben dit document nodig voor onze partner. Zich niet lekker voelen zonder dit papier is niet voldoende voor een terugbetaling. We begrijpen dat dit streng is en het spijt ons, maar dit is de enige manier waarop we ons kunnen beschermen tegen last-minute annuleringen.
Op tijd zijn
- De groep vertrekt op tijd en de quads blijven voor u gereserveerd. Als u te laat arriveert, kunnen wij uw plek niet vasthouden en geldt dit als een no-show. Gasten die dronken aankomen worden om veiligheidsredenen geweigerd. Zij krijgen hun geld niet terug en betalen bovendien de rest.
Door te boeken accepteert u dit
Door te boeken via Club Canary bevestigt u dat u dit beleid hebt gelezen en ermee akkoord gaat. Dit is niet bedoeld om het u moeilijk te maken. Het stelt ons juist in staat om u een eenvoudige boeking aan te bieden met een kleine aanbetaling vooraf. Een aanbetaling alleen dekt niet de kosten van een no-show of een last-minute annulering. Daarom bestaan deze voorwaarden. Mocht er echt iets misgaan, neem dan contact met ons op. We zullen altijd proberen een eerlijke oplossing te vinden.
