The main tourist areas of South Tenerife. When a tour page says "pickup from main hotels", this is what it means. Playa Paraíso, Fañabé and La Caleta are covered by most tours too, very occasionally with a small supplement, shown before you pay.

Staying At Abama Or Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora?

🏨 Two Beautiful Resorts, One Practical Note

Le site Ritz-Carlton Abama (Guía de Isora) and the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora (Alcalá) are two of the finest resorts on the island, and we welcome many guests from both. One honest practical note: they sit on the quieter west coast, outside the standard excursion routes. Most regular tours, like quad safaris and jet skis, do not offer pickup there, and when a tour does, it usually comes with an extra cost.

The good news: for private experiences, a pickup at your resort is normally no problem at all: private boat charters, private stargazing, luxury cars, private quads and more. And for regular tours, many guests simply drive or taxi to the nearby meeting points. Message us with your dates and wishes before booking, and we plan the smoothest option for your stay.

How Hotel Pickup Works

The same simple system on almost every Club Canary excursion with transport.

  1. Write your hotel name when booking

    Every booking form with pickup has a field for it. Staying in an apartment? Write the name of the nearest hotel, that is the normal way here.

  2. Your exact time comes with the confirmation

    Pickup times are windows, not taxi appointments: the bus drives a route past several hotels. Your confirmation tells you the time and the exact meeting point, usually at or next to your hotel.

  3. Check the tour page for its own pickup map

    Many activities, especially the bus tours, have a Google Maps link in their information section showing the exact pickup points. What the tour page says always wins, because every activity is a little different.

  4. Be ready a few minutes early, the return is included

    The driver has a full route and cannot wait long at one stop. After the activity you are dropped at the same point or close to it. Some tours charge a small pickup supplement, always shown before you pay.

Why do we make such a point of this? Because pickup mistakes are the number one reason a holiday morning goes wrong, anywhere on the island. A guest books from a zone the bus does not reach, nobody checks, and at 9:00 someone is standing outside a hotel where no bus will ever come. We would rather explain the zones clearly now than apologise later. That is the whole Club Canary way of working.

Free Pickup: The Golden Rules

On many of our activities the pickup service is complimentary: a free extra for guests who want it, not a part of the tour itself. You are not charged for it, and skipping it does not make the tour cheaper. A free ride to your activity is a beautiful thing, and it works best when everyone knows these honest rules.

1. A courtesy ride is not a private taxi. The bus follows a route with several stops, and traffic on this island does what traffic does. If your pickup runs a little late, the driver is on the way, we promise. Worried? Message us and we check live. But please, judge the tour by the tour, not the free ride to it.
2. Sometimes you arrive early, and that is on purpose. Take the La Gomera day trip: the pickup brings everyone to the Los Cristianos harbor with a safe time buffer, because the ferry waits for nobody. Prefer more sleep and no waiting? Go to the harbor yourself and meet the guide there, honestly, that is what we recommend for this trip. Your ticket always says where and when.
3. Be outside, on time, visible. Drivers cannot enter your hotel, call your room, or wait long at one stop, the whole route depends on it. Stand outside at the time on your e-ticket. On private and exclusive trips your driver often sends a WhatsApp on the way, but for group tours: outside, a few minutes early, every time.
4. The return trip is your appointment too. On tours and transfers, the guide announces the return time and meeting point, for example at Siam Park or on a bus tour. Missing the return bus means arranging your own way back at your own cost, so listen to the guide and set an alarm on your phone. It is a one-second habit that saves a very expensive taxi.
5. And a small honest footnote. For 99% of our guests this line is not needed, and we say it with love: our buses are GPS-tracked, and when a stop is empty, guides photograph it with a timestamp. So if a pickup truly fails, we see it and we fix it properly. And a claim that is not true is fraud, which we do report. Honesty in both directions, that is the deal that keeps prices fair for everyone.

🌊 Puerto de la Cruz: The Special Case

Puerto de la Cruz is the one northern town with real excursion pickups, but only on selected activities and selected days. Teide by Night, for example, collects in Puerto de la Cruz on set days per language, and several other tours run northern pickups too.

Staying In Santa Cruz? The Honest Answer

🚢 Santa Cruz: Not Yet, But Big Things Are Coming

Right now, standard excursion pickups from Santa Cruz are not possible. Yes, it is the capital, and yes, we know that sounds strange. The simple reason: the excursion operators run their routes around the southern resorts, and a detour to Santa Cruz would add hours for every other guest on the bus.

What you can do today: many guests travel to the south themselves, join the activity there, and travel back. A rental car makes it easy, and the Títsa public buses run direct lines between Santa Cruz and Costa Adeje / Los Cristianos all day. Book the activity as self-arrival, and message us if you want help picking a realistic start time.

The luxury exception: for private experiences, like private stargazing or private charters, a Santa Cruz pickup can often be arranged. Honest warning: it always comes with a serious extra fee, because a private driver crosses the island for you. If that fits your plans, ask us and we quote it straight.

And in 2027, this changes. Club Canary works with many cruise ship guests who dock in Santa Cruz, so we are building a dedicated collection of things to do in and around Santa Cruz: activities that start there, no long transfers needed. What To Look Out For Before Booking

Three quick habits that prevent 99% of pickup problems:

1. Check the pickup note on the tour page. Every activity lists its own pickup areas, and many, especially bus tours, include a Google Maps link with the exact pickup points. What the tour page says always wins.
2. Outside the Green Zone? Message first, book second. A WhatsApp check takes two minutes and saves a ruined morning. Send your hotel name and the activity, in whatever language you like, our team answers in 20 languages, honestly, even when the answer is no.
3. No pickup does not mean no activity. Most tours also accept self-arrival: come by rental car or bus, meet at the start point, save the supplement. The meeting point and arrival time are always on your ticket.

La prise en charge à l'hôtel est-elle gratuite pour les excursions à Tenerife ?

Parfois, et cela dépend de l'activité. Certaines excursions, comme le transport pour le Loro Parque, couvrent une zone plus vaste, tandis que la plupart des sports nautiques et des excursions d'aventure restent dans la zone sud principale. Des zones telles que Los Gigantes, Alcalá, Golf del Sur, El Médano, Palm-Mar, Chayofa et San Miguel constituent notre zone à vérifier au préalable : envoyez-nous un message avec votre hôtel et l'activité avant de réserver, et vous obtiendrez une réponse claire en quelques minutes, dans votre propre langue.

Venez-vous chercher au Ritz-Carlton Abama ou au Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora ?

Pour les expériences privées, en général oui : les locations de bateaux privés, l'observation des étoiles privée, les voitures de luxe et autres prestations similaires peuvent venir vous chercher dans les deux complexes hôteliers. Pour les excursions de groupe régulières, honnêtement, c'est plutôt non : ces complexes sont situés sur la côte ouest, au calme, en dehors des itinéraires habituels, et lorsqu'une excursion y fait halte, cela entraîne généralement des frais supplémentaires. Est-ce que vous venez chercher à Puerto de la Cruz ?

Pour certaines activités sélectionnées, oui. Puerto de la Cruz est la seule ville du nord qui propose de véritables prises en charge pour les excursions, mais uniquement pour des visites spécifiques certains jours. Venez-vous chercher à Santa Cruz ?

Les transferts standard au départ de Santa Cruz ne sont pas possibles pour le moment, et nous le disons en toute honnêteté. Vous pouvez participer à la plupart des circuits en vous rendant par vos propres moyens vers le sud (en voiture de location ou avec les bus directs Títsa), et les expériences privées peuvent parfois organiser un transfert depuis Santa Cruz moyennant un supplément important. Que se passe-t-il si je rate mon ramassage ?

Mais honnêtement : le bus ne peut pas faire demi-tour, et un non-présentation signifie généralement que l'acompte est perdu, selon la politique de l'activité. My pickup is late. What should I do?

Stay at your meeting point and message us on WhatsApp, we check the bus position live. Pickups follow a route with several hotel stops, so on busy days the bus can run 5 to 10 minutes late, traffic here can be brutal some days. It can also be early: if your pickup is at 08:10, the bus may already be there at 08:05, wait until around 08:11, and then continue its route, in some cases with or without you, depending on the pickup location. The whole schedule is optimised to be as accurate as possible, but things can happen. So the golden rule: be outside a few minutes before your time, and stay until the bus arrives. Good to know: on many activities the pickup is a complimentary extra service, free of charge and separate from the tour itself, and the driver is always on the way.

I missed the return bus after my tour. Will you pay my taxi?

Honestly, no. The guide announces the return time and meeting point during every tour and transfer, and being there on time is each guest's own responsibility. If you miss the return, the way back is at your own cost. Our tip: set a phone alarm for the return time the moment the guide announces it.
