Gran Canaria Stargazing, Quick Facts
Gran Canaria Stargazing Tour with Hotel Pickup
Watch the sunset above the clouds, then explore Gran Canaria's night sky with an expert guide and professional telescopes. You are collected from the south, driven up into the mountains and brought back to your hotel, so there is no night driving and no searching for a dark viewpoint. A welcome drink and a downloadable night-sky photo are included, and it is a relaxed, small-group evening rather than a big generic bus tour.
A small group, no mountain driving at night, free cancellation up to 48 hours before, and a local Club Canary team on WhatsApp every day from 08:00 to 22:00. Club Canary is an official ticket seller, the tour is run by a licensed local operator.
75€ per person. You reserve online with 25€ per guest and pay the remaining 50€ to the guide on the night. Children join from age 5 at the same price.
Below: the tour, the evening step by step, how to join, what's included, all the info, the FAQ, and the policy.
Stars Without the Stressful Drive
The great thing about this tour is how easy it is. There is no driving up dark, winding mountain roads, no navigating to a remote viewpoint and no long walk to find clear sky. You are picked up in the south, driven up in comfort and brought back afterwards. On top of that, it is a proper guided astronomy session with professional telescopes and an expert, not just a quick photo stop, so first-time stargazers and keen sky-watchers both get a real experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this Gran Canaria stargazing tour special?
This experience combines a beautiful mountain sunset with a guided stargazing session using telescopes. An expert guide explains the stars, planets, and constellations in a simple and fun way. It’s designed as a relaxed small-group experience, not a crowded bus tour.
Does the tour include hotel pickup?
Yes. This is a stargazing tour with pickup from the main tourist areas in southern Gran Canaria. You will be collected near your hotel and driven into the mountains where the skies are darker and perfect for stargazing.
How much does the Gran Canaria stargazing tour cost?
The price is 75€ per person. You reserve your seat with a 25€ deposit through Club Canary and pay the remaining 50€ on the day of the tour to the guide.
How long does the experience last?
The full tour usually lasts about 4 to 5 hours. This includes pickup, a sunset stop in the mountains, and the guided telescope stargazing session before returning to your hotel.
What can you see during the stargazing session?
Depending on the season and sky conditions, you may see planets, star clusters, nebulae, and sometimes distant galaxies. The Milky Way is often visible during certain months. The guide also explains the constellations using a laser pointer.
Do we use telescopes during this Gran Canaria stargazing tour?
Yes. The guide brings telescopes so guests can observe planets and deep-sky objects. The guide will also explain what you are seeing so even beginners can enjoy the experience.
Is food included in the tour?
There is no dinner included. During the sunset stop guests receive a welcome drink, usually cava or juice. If you would like snacks or extra drinks, you are welcome to bring your own.
Can children join the tour?
Yes. Children from 5 years old are welcome to join the tour. The price is the same for children and adults. Booster seats are available in the transport. Please mention the child’s age in the order notes when booking.
What should I bring with me?
It can be cooler in the mountains at night, so we recommend bringing a light jacket and wearing comfortable shoes. You can also bring snacks or drinks if you like.
Do I need to know anything about astronomy?
Not at all. The tour is designed for beginners and curious travelers. The guide explains everything in an easy and entertaining way so everyone can enjoy the night sky.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Stargazing requires clear skies to properly observe planets, stars, and galaxies. The astronomy instructor carefully monitors the weather and sky conditions before every tour. Only the guide decides if the conditions are good enough for the experience. If the instructor determines that visibility is not suitable for safe or enjoyable stargazing, the tour may be rescheduled or cancelled. In that case, you will be offered a new date or a full refund. If you do not receive any message from Club Canary or the guide, the tour runs as planned. Please note that this decision belongs to the professional instructor running the tour, as it is their responsibility and expertise.
Where does the hotel pickup take place?
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from the south of Gran Canaria. The pickup area runs between Puerto de Mogán and Bahía Feliz, including the main tourist zones such as Puerto Rico, Amadores, Tauro, Arguineguín, Meloneras, Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, and San Agustín.
Guests are usually collected directly from their accommodation or from a nearby meeting point if access to the hotel entrance is not possible.
When booking, please write the name of your hotel or resort, not a street address. The pickup system is designed for tourist accommodations and well-known hotels in the area.
After booking, Club Canary confirms the exact pickup time and location with you.
How big are the groups on the Gran Canaria stargazing tour?
The tour is designed to stay small so everyone can enjoy the telescopes and interact with the astronomy guide. Normally up to 8 guests travel in the tour van, and additional guests may join the experience with the self-drive option at the stargazing location. Even when self-drive guests join, the group remains relatively small compared to large bus tours.
What should I wear for the Gran Canaria stargazing tour?
Even though Gran Canaria is warm during the day, the mountain areas can become quite cold at night, especially after sunset. We strongly recommend wearing warm clothes and dressing in layers, along with closed shoes. A limited number of coats are available for guests to borrow, but it is best to come prepared so you can comfortably enjoy the night sky.

Club Canary's Honest Take
Real talk from your local team in the Canary Islands
This is a great pick if you want the full stargazing experience without driving into the mountains at night yourself. Pickup, the sunset above the clouds, professional telescopes and a small-group feel make it one of the easiest and most complete-feeling night outings in Gran Canaria, and the downloadable photo is a nice touch to take home.
One honest note: the sky is the sky. Some nights are jaw-dropping, others are quieter, and no guide can promise the Milky Way or clear skies. Come for a lovely guided evening, dress warm, and enjoy whatever the night gives you.
Reserve with 25€, pay the rest on the night, and enjoy the stars stress-free.
