The Albakora Cat, 12 Metres And Up To 10 People
The Albakora Cat is a 12-metre fishing boat with genuine deck space, based at Castillo harbour in Caleta de Fuste. It takes up to 10 people, and on a private charter that means just you, your group and the crew. Nobody else aboard.
There are sunny spots and shaded seating, a toilet and a changing room, and you will be asked to take your shoes off, which are stored safely until you are back in port. The crew speaks several languages and the boat holds all the licences it needs.
⚠️ Not suitable for wheelchairs. There is no space for them on board. The trip is also not recommended for expecting mothers or very young children, and we would rather tell you now than at the gate.

The Atlantic off Fuerteventura holds proper fish. Depending on the season and the style you choose, the realistic targets are marlin, tuna and red snapper, with plenty of other Atlantic species besides. Dolphins turn up sometimes and whales occasionally, though neither is ever promised.
Being straight about the fishing itself: catch and release applies to certain species, and the decision on each fish is the captain's. That is how a licensed charter operates here and it is the reason there are still fish to catch.

The crew are fishermen, not entertainers. They are genuinely skilled at big game fishing and they are not always the chattiest people on the water. Their focus is putting fish on your line, and honestly that is what you want from them.
It is a real fishing boat, so dress for it. Clothes you do not mind getting splashed, and shoes you can take off.
Seasickness happens and the trip continues. Any change is the captain's call, and there are no refunds for seasickness. Eat something beforehand, skip the alcohol, and take a tablet 30 minutes before departure if you are sensitive.
Watching a tuna come aboard is part of it. That is the appeal for most people and it is not for everyone. Worth deciding before you book rather than on the deck.

Thank you for booking your private fishing charter with Club Canary. Unlike many providers who demand full payment upfront, we work on a deposit system, so we ask you to respect the cancellation terms in return. Please have a read before you book.
Booking And Payment
- The rate is 129€ per hour for the whole boat, with a four hour minimum.
- A deposit reserves your date, and the balance is paid before the trip begins.
- Cash is the preferred method for the balance on the day.
Cancellation
- Free cancellation up to 4 days before your trip.
- Between 48 and 12 hours before: a 30€ fee applies per booked hour.
- Less than 12 hours before, or a no-show: a 75€ fee applies per booked hour.
Fishing And The Catch
- Catch and release applies to certain species, and the decision on each catch rests with the captain.
- The boat holds all the licences required to fish these waters legally.
- Tackle, grounds and local knowledge are included. A catch is never guaranteed.
On Board
- Please use only the designated smoking zones.
- This is a genuine working fishing boat, so dress for splashes and a bit of mess.
- Basic snacks and drinks are available. For specific dietary needs, please bring your own.
Seasickness
- If someone becomes seasick the trip normally continues, and any adjustment is the captain's decision.
- We cannot process refunds relating to seasickness.
Suitability
- The trip may not suit everyone, including wheelchair users, expecting mothers and very young children.
- It does suit both complete beginners and experienced anglers, with help from the captain as needed.
On The Day
- If any concern comes up during the trip, please raise it directly with the captain so it can be resolved immediately.
- Refund considerations on the day are at the captain's discretion.

Real talk: at 129€ an hour for the whole boat this is better value than people assume. Ten of you on a four hour charter is about 52€ each, with all the tackle and a captain who knows the grounds. For a private boat where your group sets the hours and the style, that is a genuinely fair number.
If you can stretch to six hours rather than four, do. Four is enough to fish properly, but six is where you can actually change style if the bottom fishing goes quiet, and where big game becomes realistic rather than hopeful.
Two honest things. The crew are fishermen, not tour guides. They are excellent at what they do and they are not there to chat, which we think is the right way round. And this is a working boat, so expect splashes, expect the smell of bait, and expect to see a tuna land on the deck.
