A Port Day In Funchal With The Bus
Walk from the pier to Avenida do Mar, hop on, ride the full loop once for the overview and the commentary, then get off at Câmara de Lobos and in the old town. Fit the wine tasting in before the walk back to the ship. With a bus every 25 minutes you never wait long, and the loop ends where you started, by the port.
When the bus is the wrong choice. If you want the mountains and the Nuns' Valley, take our private taxi tour; the bus does not go there. If you want to understand Madeira wine properly, the private winery tour and six wine tasting is a different league from the free tasting on this ticket. The bus is the cheap, easy day, and that is exactly what some port days need.

Cruise guests only: this ticket is for guests calling at Funchal by ship as part of a Canary Islands cruise. Club Canary is a Canary Islands company; we do not sell to visitors staying on Madeira.
Red route: daily 09:30 to 17:05, a bus every 25 minutes, full loop about 100 minutes, 21 stops. Central Funchal, Câmara de Lobos, Praia Formosa, Forum Madeira, the Lido and the hotel zone.
Blue route (48 hour tickets): daily 09:45 to 17:15, a bus every 90 minutes, full loop about 75 minutes. Funchal, Monte, the Jardim do Imperador and Livramento.
Walking tours: historic centre Monday to Saturday at 11:00, gardens Monday to Saturday at 13:00. Not on Sundays, 25 December or 1 January.
Night bus (48 hour tickets): 20:00. CR7 Museum (Value): Monday to Friday 10:00 to 17:00, closed weekends.
Main stop: Avenida do Mar, Funchal, a short walk from the cruise pier. No hotel pickup; board at any stop and show your voucher.

We will be straight with you: this is the simple, cheap option for Funchal, not the special one. If you want the special one, our private wine tasting in taxi tour to Nuns' Valley are the days we would pick ourselves. But if you are a family, a group on a budget, or you just want to see the coast and Câmara de Lobos from the top deck without a plan, twenty six euro and a bus every 25 minutes is hard to argue with.
Buy the 24 hour Iconic, ride the red loop once, get off in the old town and at the fishing village, and use the free wine tasting as your excuse for a sit down. Back at the ship in time, nothing to organise.
