Diving course in Tenerife information
- Do not forget your Club Canary ticket. You can have it on your phone or printed out.
- Make sure you carry some cash and a credit card with you, as the diving trip requires final payment before it begins.
- Wear swimwear and bring a towel and sunscreen.
- Safe to book for anyone between the ages of 8 and 70 years.
- The Scuba diving instructor speaks several languages.
- Smoking is not allowed during this activity.
- Research has been done and it is safe for pregnant women (less than 4 weeks) to dive. But still we will not recommend this and recommend you to book the Tenerife snorkeling excursion instead, which is offered by the same diving school.
- Children under the age of 16 must have permission from parents.
- You can bring a camera or phone. Please note this is at your own risk, if you lose it in the ocean we are not responsible.
- For people being picked up: wait outside your hotel/accommodation or on the side of the road. You will be picked up by a minibus, which is operated by someone from the Vibe dive team. The driver is fluent in English and Spanish and may ask for your Club Canary excursion ticket.
Only for people who will not be picked up

- Near the Vibe Dive centre it is not easy to park. Therefore make sure you are on time, and possibly prepared to walk a bit from the car to the starting point.
- Open the location on google maps, and see the meeting location and the Club Canary office.
- If you come to the departure point by yourself and want to use the drop-off service afterwards, indicate it on the order note.
Diving course in Tenerife policy
- Should it happen that the weather on your chosen day is too bad or not safe for the activity, we will contact you. We will do this at least 1 hour in advance and we will offer you the option of either a full refund or rescheduling the outing.
- Before you go diving, you will be given a medical sheet by the diving school that you must fill out. This is to certify that you are healthy, and in condition to dive.
- You may cancel or reschedule the trip for free up to 24 hours in advance. Send us your request by email: office@clubcanary.com.
- If you do not cancel in time or are not in time on the day of the tour, there will be no refund.
- If you have chosen to dive by boat, the chances of diving with turtles and rays are very high. However, it remains nature, and therefore we cannot guarantee that you will always see them.
- If a tour has not been to your liking, and you feel you are entitled to a composition. Then you should discuss this on the day of your tour with the dive school staff of Vibe Dive. Club Canary is not present at your activity and can therefore not reflect on the circumstances.
Get your diving license in Tenerife
Tenerife is a unique place for making a diving certification. Making the certificate here, will prepare you for any conditions and any obstacles in your underwater world adventure. Although there are several diving spots in Tenerife, Club Canary only cooperates with a diving school in Playa de la Américas. Once you obtain your PADI scuba diving certificate at the diving centre you can explore not only diving in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Tenerife but around the whole world!
PADI scuba diving course in Tenerife
PADI stands for the Professional Association of Diving Instructors and with Club Canary it will be as easy as it gets to become one. Open Water Diver is the first scuba certification level of the diving course.
Open water diving lessons in South Tenerife
This is your chance to get an internationally respected diving certificate. With this course you will be taught how to dive and learn the theory of diving. A highly-trained PADI instructor will teach you all the neccessities. You will dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters while constantly supervised by your diving instructor.
During this diving lesson in Tenerife you will learn how it feels to breathe underwater and experience the underwater world like never before. You will learn how to distinguish different currents, understand the ocean laws and much more. By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge to dive at home or abroad and be an ambassador for the underwater world. In the end you will also obtain the necessary papers for it.
Get the PADI open water diving certificate for children
Children and young teenagers from the ages of 10 to 14 may also get the PADI scuba diving certificate on Tenerife! The course lasts about 2-3 days and consists of theory and lots of practice in 5 dives. With this course there will be a theoretical and practical aspect of it. While constantly supervised by your diving instructor, for the Junior Open Water course it is allowed to dive up to maximum 14 meters. The course ends with a PADI certificate.
About the open diving course
Usually, the pick up will be at 9:00 and after about 5 hours you will return. The course consists of 5 dives, each dive is around 1 hour, but this may extend depending on ones ability and progress. This diving certified course lasts about 2-3 days and consists of theory and lots of practice.
Playa de las Américas diving school
Club Canary cooperates with dive center Vibe Dive. The diving school in Tenerife is located in Playa de las Américas. The diving instructors are professional, speak several languages and have a lot of knowledge about diving. There is a free pick-up service available for anywhere in southern Tenerife. The diving centre has proper diving equipment and a boat at their disposal to organize boat dives in Tenerife.
Open water diving in playa de las Américas
Because of the comfortable water temperature and underwater visibility throughout the year, the scuba diving conditions from Playa de las Americas beach are very good. It is the perfect place to earn your PADI open water course, as a Junior and Senior!
Learning how to dive from a boat
During the open water course, one of the dives is done from a boat. Vibe dive centre has a fast zodiac boat leaving from Los Cristianos harbour. From the diving school we drive in a van to the harbour where the boat is moored.
Private diving trips in Tenerife
If you would like to do a dive excursion without other tourists to see and decide before you do a certificate, only with the dive master, then this is possible. Both licensed and non-licensed divers can request a private diving trip. Normally this is a dive with the boat to the turtle location, but special requests are also accepted. Often this option is also chosen by families, where one part wants to dive with turtles and another part wants to snorkel with turtles.
