Deposit
This is the amount you pay to reserve your place/date. The deposit, in this case, is a portion of the total amount to be paid and therefore will not be returned after the activity.
Arrival
The remaining amount to be paid is noted as Arrival. You will pay this on the day of your booked experience upon check-in. This can be done in cash or via card unless your ticket states otherwise.
Your paid down payment, and the amount to be paid on arriving, will be listed on your E-ticket that you will receive after you place your order.

Freebird catamaran Tenerife

Tenerife Freebird includes
- Unlimited drinks, including soft drinks, water and beer.
- Several sandwiches are included, there are options for vegetarians.
- Hassle-free pickup and drop-off from your south Tenerife hotel. Or a location nearby.
- Freebird has crew present that speaks multiple languages.
- Experienced captain and crew.
- Sitting and lying places in the shade and sun.
- Ice creams, these can be purchased.
- Vip beds. These can be arranged on the boat normally for a 10€ fee.
Tenerife Freebird information
- Do not forget your Club Canary ticket. You can have it on your phone or printed out.
- Make sure you have some cash or a debit card with you, as the tour requires a final payment before it begins.
- Pack your swimwear, a towel and sunscreen.
- The crew of this boat speaks several languages.
- Make sure you do not go on board with an empty stomach. Make sure you have not drunk any alcohol before boarding in order to minimise the chance of becoming seasick.
- It is advisable to take a travel sickness tablet 30 minutes before departure.
- On the boat, there are sunbathing spots and sitting areas in the shade.
- Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
- There is a toilet and a room to change your clothes.
- You will be asked to take your shoes off. Shoes and flip-flops will remain stored until the boat’s return to the port.
- On the freebird catamaran you cannot go on with a wheelchair. However, assistance can be offered to get on board.
Only for people who will not be picked up
- Depending on the day booked, the boat is either at gate number 10 or gate number 15. Both gate numbers can be found at the end of the harbor near the gasoline station. Not sure at which gate you are expected? Then contact Club Canary via live chat, after you have made your booking.
- You should attend at least 10 minutes before departure time.
- At the front of the gate is staff from Freebird. They will check your ticket possibly take payment and then take you to the catamaran.
- There are spacious parking areas in the port of puerto colón. The hourly rate is approximately 1.20€.

Freebird catamaran FAQ
The 3h Catamaran trip starts at 10:00 Puerto Colon in Costa Adeje and ends at 13:00. You will have time to spot whales and dolphins, relax and sunbathe.
4 ½ freebird trip starts at 13:15 from Puerto Colon. On this catamaran cruise we will spot whales and dolphins and also discover the cliffs of Los Gigantes and we will take a long break in the breathtaking Masca bay of Tenerife.
You will only need to bring your Club Canary ticket, swimwear, a towel and sunscreen, all the rest is handled by the crew of the freebird Catamaran.
Depending on your stay, pick up will take place in front or near your accommodation. On this map you can see all the collection points of the freebird pick up service.

The freebird is one of the biggest catamarans in Tenerife, so it is very stable and comfortable. Getting seasick is complicated, but we recommend you to take a travel sickness tablet 30 minutes before departure and not come on an empty stomach.
Yes there will be options for vegetarians aboard the Freebird catamaran.
There’s a VIP area where you can find sun beds but they can NOT be reserved in advance. People who are first on board can sign up first, so you need to be on time if you want to enjoy the VIP area.
Freebird Catamaran policy
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
- You may cancel or reschedule the trip for free up to 48 hours in advance. Send us your request by email: office@clubcanary.com.
- If you do not cancel in time or are not in time on the day of the tour, there will be no refund.
- On Freebird’s tours, we basically always see whales or dolphins. Unfortunately, we can’t guesstimate it because it remains the free nature. Therefore, there is no refund if you do not see animals. Also no refunds are given if you get seasick during the trip.
- Please discuss complaints or feedback with the Freebird staff on the day. The Club Canary team is not present during the boat trip and cannot judge certain situations, therefore we can’t make any refunds, unauthorized from Freebird.

Freebird catamaran
Freebird is undoubtedly Puerto Colon’s most famous boat for whale watching trips. The company owes this to more than 20 years of experience in organizing Tenerife boat trips. In order to maintain an excellent reputation, they only hire qualified crew. That is why you can expect the captain on your trip to be an expert on boating and marine life.
Freebird whale watching Tenerife
Freebird catamarans are very well maintained and have plenty of space. This also means that many people can travel on the catamaran. This is of course very entertaining, but if you are looking for a quiet trip with not many people you better look for a boat like the one in this video: Tenerife whale watching.
Freebird 3 hour trip
The amazing 3 hour whale watching trip of the Freebird starts at 10:00 from the place Puerto Colon in Costa Adeje. From here the search for whales and dolphins begins in the area between Tenerife and La Gomera. During this cruise on the catamaran the crew will inform you about the characteristics of the whale species in their natural habitat. You will learn about their food, migrations and more. And before we return to the port at 13:00 there will be the opportunity to relax, sunbathe and enjoy a dip in the ocean.
Freebird 4½ hour trip
For this trip the Freebird boat leaves Puerto Colon at 13:15 to start a beautiful 4½ hour catamaran cruise. Afterwards they sail out to look for whales and dolphins and in the meantime the crew provides additional details about these beautiful animals. On this catamaran cruise we will also discover the high cliffs of Los Gigantes and we will take a long break in the breathtaking Masca bay of Tenerife. When we arrive in the bay you will have the opportunity to eat and swim.
Lunch and drinks on the Freebird boat
During each Freebird boat trip there are unlimited drinks available consisting of soft drinks, water, beer and sangria. Lunch is also provided during the Freebird sailing trips. The food usually involves different sandwiches and a more varied choice will be available during the Freebird boat trip to Masca. For vegetarians there are also options.
Please pay attention. The Freebird boat trips are about spotting whales and dolphins the natural environment. Drinks and some food are served, but this is standard quality and nothing special. In case you are looking for something like a sunset dining experience combined with whale watching, we recommend this Tenerife sunset cruise for you.
Freebird gold and the beds/sofas
Freebird boats have a VIP zone, where you can find beds. These are lovely sunbeds placed at the front of the Freebird. Costs of the beds are currently 5€ per person for the 3 hour trip and 10€ per person for the 4,5 hour boat trip. The beds can NOT be reserved in advance. And the people who are first on board can sign up first. If you are interested in the Freebird vip zone, then make sure that you get to the boat in Puerto Colon on time.
Freebird Puerto Colon
There are two buses available to collect customers and bring them to Puerto Colon who have booked the Freebird boat trip without any extra costs. Depending on your stay, collection will take place in front or near your accommodation. If you would like to use the Freebird transfer service, please leave your hotel details behind in the order notes. Exact pick-up time and location will be listed on the ticket that you will receive from Club Canary. Below are the pick-up times for the whale trips that start at 10:00 and 13:15. Please note: when you go to the port of Puerto colon yourself, you save time and you are able to check in earlier. This is because the Free Bird bus will pass through several districts to pick up guests.
