🏎️ The Buggies:
Top Buggy runs a fleet of CFMOTO 1000 Sport and Can-Am Maverick 1000R models, both with automatic gearboxes. Every buggy goes through daily safety checks, is fully maintained, and fully insured. The fleet runs up to 5 buggies at a time, so groups stay small and the experience stays personal.

- 4-seat buggy: must be booked in advance due to demand. Children welcome as passengers if 1.20m or taller.
👥 Group Size:
This Teide buggy tour runs with a maximum of 5 buggies per group. That keeps it personal, no convoys of 20 vehicles. For private or exclusive group bookings, contact us directly.
🏢 Company & Large Group Requests:
Club Canary is a specialist in team outings, company events, and large group experiences. If your group needs something custom, we can arrange a private buggy session with a tailored schedule and full logistics support.
Contact us at events@clubcanary.com to plan your group experience.
🗣 Languages:
Tours available in English and Spanish. If everyone speaks English, the tour runs fully in English. Mixed groups get both naturally.
🎟 Before You Go:
- Have your Club Canary ticket ready, printed or on your phone.
- Bring your original driver’s licence. Phone photos are accepted but temporary licences are not.
- Wear closed shoes. Mandatory for all participants, no exceptions.
- Bring a light jacket or coat. It gets cold at altitude, even in summer. Top Buggy has spare coats at base if needed.
- Children are welcome as passengers if they are 1.20m or taller.
- Buggies do not have a toilet on board. Plan accordingly before departure.

✅ Small groups. Daily-checked buggies. Volcanic roads. That’s the Club Canary difference.

The Teide Buggy Trip Tenerife Adventure
Top Buggy has been running these tours for over ten years and the reputation speaks for itself. Starting from the base in the Chafiras industrial estate (Calle Plasencia, nave C15), you head up through southern Tenerife and into the national park. The route covers volcanic terrain and some of the most photographed scenery on the island. Your guide explains the geology, the history, and all the spots worth stopping for.
At 2,200 metres the views open up completely. On a clear day you can see across to La Gomera and La Palma.
🔥What You Can Expect From Your Buggy Tour
Stop 1 — Chafiras Base Departure
Buggy briefing, safety gear fitting, goggles and gloves on. Your guide runs through the route and what to expect. Approx. 20 min.
Stop 2 — Southern Tenerife Foothills
Scenic roads through the volcanic terrain rising out of the south. The landscape changes fast as you gain altitude. Approx. 45 min driving.
Stop 3 — Teide National Park, 2,200m
The main event. Panoramic views of the crater and surrounding lava fields. Photo stop, cold air, and total silence. Worth every metre of the climb. Approx. 30 min stop.
Optional — Sunset Buggy Tour (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat)
The 16:00 departure times up the summit stop with the sunset. Tour ends with a toast of cava, cheese, and nuts. This is the one to book if dates align.
⏱️ Tour time: approx. 4 hours. Perfect for travellers who want Teide without the coach crowds.
What To Know Before Your Top Buggy Trip
The altitude means it’s always cooler up top than at the coast. Even in summer, bring a light jacket. Top Buggy keeps extra coats at the base if you forget. Closed shoes are non-negotiable on the volcanic roads, no flip flops. If you’re driving the four-seat buggy, you need a minimum of two years’ driving experience. All safety gear is included.
Pick-up is available from the south. The base at Chafiras is easy to find and the team will confirm logistics after booking. If you’re staying in the north, get in touch and we’ll sort the details.
💬 The Sunset Tour Is A Different Experience Entirely
If you can make the Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday 16:00 departure, do it. Watching the sun drop behind the Atlantic from 2,200 metres is one of those Tenerife moments that stays with you. The cava and cheese at the end is a nice touch, but honestly the light up there is enough. We’ve been up at sunset more than once and it does not get old.
For full details on the best sunset spots across Tenerife, see our guide to sunrise and sunset spots. And if the buggy tour sparks a bigger Teide addiction, check out the full range of Teide tours we run throughout the year.
💬 Club Canary’s Honest Take
This tour is perfect for small groups and friends who want to actually drive through the national park rather than watch it from a coach window. If you want real volcanic roads, an experienced guide, and an unforgettable memory from your time in Tenerife, this is it. The sunset departure is particularly special for anyone celebrating something or just wanting the most memorable evening of the trip.
Top Buggy is the best buggy operator on the island. They’ve been running these tours for over ten years, their guides know every metre of the route, and the buggies are maintained to a standard you can feel on the road. We’ve done this tour ourselves and it’s one we genuinely tell everyone to try. That’s not something we say lightly.
Book it early. The sunset tours fill up fast and this is the one to get.
