Tenerife Carnival 2026: Most Asked Questions
What is the Coso Apoteosis Parade in Tenerife?
The Coso Apoteosis is the main parade of the Santa Cruz Carnival and the biggest Tenerife Carnival event. It takes place on 17 February 2026 and includes floats, queens, dancers, Latin Rhythms music, comparsas and thousands of spectators. It is the most popular parade for tourists who want the full Tenerife Carnival experience in one day.
If I book the bus transfer plus reserved seating, is my seating guaranteed?
Not 100%, but booking the bus transfer together with reserved seating gives the highest possible chance of confirmation. Club Canary works with authorised companies where seating is linked to the private buses we hire for Carnival day. When these buses are reserved, seating allocated to those companies is included with the transport. This applies to a large number of seats, but not all seating comes from one single source. Final confirmation of seating always depends on the official government allocation, which is released closer to the event date. While the bus transfer can always be guaranteed, seating availability is ultimately beyond our full control.
Can I book reserved seating without the bus transfer?
Yes, Club Canary can offer reserved seating without using the bus transfer, but please note that tribune seating is not normally sold as a standalone product. Due to very high demand, official carnival seating is usually allocated together with transport packages. To accommodate guests who travel to Santa Cruz on their own, Club Canary works through special arrangements where we still purchase the full package (bus + seating) on your behalf, even if you do not use the transfer. For this reason, seating without using the bus is priced differently and availability is limited. Seating confirmation is always subject to official government release. If seating cannot be confirmed, you will be contacted in advance and receive a full refund.
What is the “Add Reserved Seating” option?
This option is for guests who also book the Club Canary bus. It includes a podium chair in a special viewing zone, access to a private toilet and a guaranteed seat. These seats are very limited and usually sell out early.
Will we sit together on the podium?
Yes, almost always. Club Canary groups bookings together whenever possible. Only very late bookings risk being separated if a podium row is already full.
Will my group sit together on the bus?
Usually yes, but it depends on pick-up order. Early pick-ups have the first choice of seats. If you board last, you might need to ask other passengers or the guide for help. People at the carnival are friendly and flexible.
Can it happen that I book reserved seating and it later cannot be provided? Why?
Yes, this can happen. Reserved seating for the Tenerife Carnival is officially controlled by the local government, and the total number of chairs released is limited and not known far in advance.
Club Canary starts pre-selling around 8 months in advance based on estimates and historical allocations, and works directly with authorised companies to secure as many seats as possible. This gives guests the best possible chance, but availability is not fully within our control.
If reserved seating cannot be confirmed, guests are contacted in advance and offered a full refund or an alternative option, if available. While this is never our preferred outcome, we always communicate transparently and act fairly.
We kindly ask for understanding and respectful communication in these situations. Applying pressure, making threats, or requesting special exceptions will not increase availability. Carnival is a free public event, and many people still enjoy it fully without reserved seating by arriving early with their own chairs along the route.
Why does reserved seating without using the bus cost more?
Reserved tribune seating is not normally sold on its own. Due to very high demand, seating is typically allocated as part of transport packages.
When guests choose not to use the bus, Club Canary still needs to purchase the full package (bus + seating) to secure the seat. This is why seating without using the transfer is priced differently.
In short, you are receiving access to an option that is normally not available as a standalone product, made possible through Club Canary’s arrangements with authorised suppliers.
When can I pre-purchase tickets for the Tenerife Carnival and reserved seating?
Pre-purchase for Tenerife Carnival events and reserved seating usually opens around eight months in advance, typically in the summer or towards the end of the summer. Club Canary opens pre-sale as soon as official information and allocations become available, allowing guests to secure their place as early as possible. Booking early always gives the best chance of availability, especially for limited options like reserved seating.
How long does the Tenerife Carnival parade last?
The Coso Apoteosis normally lasts 3.5 to 4 hours. You can leave the podium at any time to buy food or walk around and return to your seat by showing your ticket. Most people take short breaks during the parade.
Can children join the bus transfer or seating?
Yes. Child Bus Ticket (2–11 years) is 26€. Reserved seating for children costs the same as adults because every chair counts as one seat. Children under two years old can join for free but must sit on an adult’s lap and do not receive a chair. Consider if the busy carnival environment is suitable for your child.
Which areas do you pick up from?
Pick-ups cover Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago, Costa Adeje, Playa Paraiso, Las Américas, Los Cristianos, Palm Mar, Las Galletas, Costa del Silencio, San Miguel, El Médano, Candelaria, Las Caletillas and Puerto de la Cruz. Exact meeting points are sent with your ticket.
What if I want to stay longer in Santa Cruz and not use the return bus?
This is no problem. Many people stay in Santa Cruz to keep celebrating. Just tell the guide or send us a WhatsApp message so we don’t wait for you during the return. But there is no price adjustment.
Is public transport good for Tenerife Carnival?
Not recommended. Public buses become overcrowded, taxis are almost impossible to find and parking is extremely limited. Club Canary offers one of the fastest options thanks to high booking volume and grouped hotel pick-ups.
What is included with reserved seating?
You receive a podium chair, access to a private toilet area, re-entry to your seat, and a clear view of the parade route. This is not luxury or VIP seating, but it offers a guaranteed place to sit along the route.
Please note that reserved seating does not mean a private or controlled environment. The carnival is a large public event, and Club Canary cannot guarantee who will be seated next to you or around you. Children may be seated nearby, and people may occasionally stand up, move around, or pass in front of the podium.
While reserved seating provides comfort and structure, the atmosphere can still be lively and sometimes chaotic, which is part of the authentic carnival experience. We kindly ask for your understanding.
What should tourists do if they want to experience Tenerife Carnival?
For the full Tenerife Carnival experience, Coso Apoteosis is the number one event to book. If you only choose one parade, this is the one. Ritmo y Armonía on 14 February 2026 is also a great option with music, costumes and choreography, and many people decide to do both. You can book Ritmo y Armonía here: https://clubcanary.com/tenerife/ritmo-y-armonia-carnival-event/
Can I book a private transfer for the Tenerife Carnival parade?
If you want a luxury way to experience the Tenerife Carnival parade, Club Canary can arrange it. The best option is to book the reserved seating with us and then request a private driver. We work with several trusted private drivers who can take you and your family directly from your hotel to Santa Cruz and bring you back after the parade. It is more expensive than the bus and private drivers cannot access the same special drop-off zone that our authorized buses use, but they will still take you as close as possible and pick you up at an agreed point. These are not regular taxis; they are professional drivers who normally do private island tours, so you can even combine it with sightseeing like Teide before the parade. For luxury or custom routes, just contact Club Canary on WhatsApp and we will prepare a personalised quote.
Can I hire a private bus for my group to go to Carnival in Tenerife?
Yes. Club Canary specialises in organising private buses for company events, team outings, and big groups attending the Carnaval de Tenerife. We can provide a comfortable coach with air conditioning, clear instructions, flexible pick-up and return options, and official invoices with taxes included. Your group can start earlier or stay longer if you want to party after the parade. These bookings require advance planning and must normally be arranged at least 1.5 months before the event. Contact us on WhatsApp or email events@clubcanary.com for a personalised offer.
Can I buy my Tenerife Carnival tickets in person instead of online?
Yes. You can book your Tenerife Carnival tickets directly at the Club Canary office. We are open every day from 08:00 to 22:00 in the luxury shopping centre Plaza del Duque in Costa Adeje. If possible, send us a quick WhatsApp message before you arrive so we can prepare your booking or have staff ready in your language. You can pay in the office by card, cash or our ATM machine, and you will receive an invoice on the spot. Club Canary is one of the most trusted agencies in the Canary Islands, and our team is always happy to meet clients in person. Please note: the booking process is still completed online in our system, because this keeps everything organised and ensures you receive your official tickets by email like all other customers.
Which other Carnival events can I book if I’m staying in the south of Tenerife?
Besides the Coso Apoteosis, Club Canary also offers organised bus transfers to two other popular Santa Cruz Carnival events. The Ritmo y Armonía parade on 14 February is a lively evening event with dance groups and strong local atmosphere. On 13 February, you can join the Cabalgata Carnival, a very interactive street parade where you walk with the crowd and feel the real carnival energy. Both options include easy transport from the south of Tenerife and are great alternatives if you want to experience more than one Carnival night.
Is the Tenerife Carnival good for people with mobility issues?
Not ideal. The Santa Cruz Carnival is very crowded, walking areas are long and access to the podium can be busy. We help where possible, but we cannot guarantee optimal conditions for wheelchairs or limited mobility.
Is the carnival seating comfortable?
The seating is a simple podium chair, not luxury, but it offers a better view, a guaranteed spot and access to a private toilet. Without seating, it is very hard to find a good viewing place because locals arrive early and the streets become packed.
How does the Club Canary bus transfer work?
The Adult Bus Ticket is a two-way transfer from the south of Tenerife to Santa Cruz. Pick-ups start around 12:15 from selected hotels, and the return is normally around 19:30–20:00. Exact times and meeting points are sent about two weeks before the parade after grouping people by hotel area for faster transfers.
When do I receive my official carnival tickets?
You receive your invoice immediately after booking. Your official bus and seating tickets are sent about two weeks before the parade. This is because government seating is released later and we need time to group guests by hotel area.

✅ Smooth transfers, smart organisation, and the best view of Tenerife’s main carnival parade.
Carnival Parade Bus Transfer & Seating Policy 2026
Payment
- This Tenerife carnival experience requires full payment at the time of booking due to very high demand and limited capacity.
- Groups of 15 or more may request an invoice and payment split, but this must be arranged in advance.
- Payments are not insurance. Unexpected cancellations by third parties (such as the government) follow the terms stated below.
- Prices can change based on availability and demand. A price difference compared to other sellers is not a reason for a refund.
Cancellation Policy
- More than 20 days before the event: 100 percent refund.
- 12–20 days prior: 80 percent refund.
- 5–12 days prior: 60 percent refund.
- 1–5 days prior: 40 percent refund.
- Less than 24 hours or no-shows: no refund.
- If you arrive late and miss the bus or the meeting point, this is treated as a no-show and no refund applies.
External Factors
- If the Coso Apoteosis parade is cancelled by the Santa Cruz council (for example due to safety or public health), an 80 percent refund is issued. The remaining 20 percent covers operational work, staffing and transaction costs (costs incurred regardless of attendance).
- Rain or normal weather variations are not grounds for refunds. The parade only cancels if the authorities deem the conditions unsafe.
- If the parade is cancelled after arrival in Santa Cruz and the guide decides to return before 16:00, 40 percent of the bus transfer will be refunded. Reserved seating refunds depend entirely on government permission.
- In previous years, last-minute government cancellations have occurred without compensation to organisers. We ask for understanding if similar force-majeure situations arise.
- Pick-up times, meeting points and return times may change slightly due to traffic, police restrictions, or event logistics. This is normal during Carnival and is not a reason for a refund.
Responsibility & Conduct
- Club Canary provides the transfer service and reserved seating options; we do not control the parade itself, crowd behaviour or the overall organisation of the Santa Cruz Carnival.
- Guests must follow the instructions of drivers and guides at all times. Unsafe or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal without refund.
- No alcohol or illegal substances are allowed on the bus.
- If a guest misses the return transfer, leaves early by choice, or is unable to return due to arrest, misconduct, or medical situations caused by fights or alcohol, no refund is possible.
- Comfort cannot be guaranteed. The Coso Apoteosis is a large, crowded street parade. Some guests love the energy; others may find it intense. This is part of the authentic Tenerife carnival experience.
Seating Reservations
- Reserved seating pre-sale usually opens around eight months in advance, often in the summer or towards the end of the summer. Club Canary opens pre-sale as early as possible once official information is released.
- Due to very high demand, guests who book closer to the event (for example one to three months before) may already be too late for reserved seating.
- Seat upgrades on the day are not possible.
- Seats with Club Canary are distributed on a first-come basis according to official release and allocation dates.
- If you booked seating only (no bus), the official seating ticket is normally sent about two weeks before the parade, once seating is confirmed and the government allocation has been released.
- Please do not share your seating ticket outside your booking group, as it may contain a personal access code for the podium area.
- Reserved seating provides an allocated place in the official seating zone once confirmed, but exact row, exact seat number, and perfect visibility cannot be guaranteed.
- Important: Reserved tribune seating is not normally sold as a standalone product. Due to very high demand, seating is typically allocated together with transport packages.
- To accommodate guests who travel to Santa Cruz on their own, Club Canary can offer seating without using the bus transfer through a special arrangement. Under this setup, the full package (bus + seating) is still purchased on your behalf, even if you do not use the transfer. This is why the seating-only option is priced differently.
- Bus transfer availability can be guaranteed; seating availability cannot. Final seating confirmation depends on the official government allocation, which is released closer to the event date.
- Club Canary works directly with authorised companies and continues to secure as many seats as possible. Booking with Club Canary maximises the chance of securing official seating based on our working agreements, but it is not a 100 percent guarantee.
- If it becomes clear that seating cannot be provided, you will be informed as soon as this is confirmed and a full refund will be issued, or an alternative option may be offered if available and mutually agreed.
- Reserved seating does not imply priority treatment, special assistance, or exceptions based on personal circumstances.
Partial Use & No-Reduction Policy
- If you choose not to use part of the service (for example: skip pick-up, leave early, or not take the return bus), no partial refund or price reduction applies.
- Once the service is delivered as booked, refunds are not possible due to personal preference, tiredness, crowd levels, noise, weather, or similar reasons.
Feedback & Expectations
- The Coso Apoteosis is one of the biggest street events in Spain. It is lively, crowded and full of movement. Some people adore it, some find it overwhelming.
- Club Canary is responsible only for the transfer service and reserved seating. We are not responsible for parade timings, crowd behaviour, comfort, noise, weather, or visibility affected by other spectators.
- We do our best to seat groups together, but seating positions depend on the organisers and cannot always be customised.
- Complaints about the parade itself, crowd density, visibility (including people standing up), or personal taste are not grounds for refunds.
Assistance
- If you need help before the event, contact our local team at info@clubcanary.com.
- For urgent matters on the day, follow the instructions provided on your ticket.
By booking with Club Canary, you confirm that you have read and accepted this policy. These guidelines ensure fairness for all clients and help us organise one of Tenerife’s most requested carnival services smoothly.
Tenerife Carnival 2026 – Coso Apoteosis Main Parade
The Coso Apoteosis Tenerife Carnival Parade on 17 February 2026 is the main carnival event in Santa Cruz and the best parade for tourists who want to feel the real Tenerife Carnival vibe in one day. You can expect huge floats, comparsas, costumes, drums, live bands and a sea of people along the streets. Every year this parade is sold out long before the date, so booking in advance is very important. The official Tenerife Carnival 2026 theme is “Los Ritmos Latinos” (Latin Rhythms). That means even more salsa, merengue, bachata and reggaeton on the streets, colourful Latin style costumes and a very warm, upbeat atmosphere during the whole parade.
💬 Update February 2026 – Important Reserved Seating Information
Reserved seating for the Coso Apoteosis Tenerife Carnival Parade is officially managed by the local government. Only a limited number of authorised companies are allowed to sell these chairs. Club Canary pre-reserved the available chairs months in advance by working directly with these authorised companies. The pre-sale already started in summer 2025, and seats were allocated on a first-come basis. Guests who booked earlier always received priority.
The total number of chairs released by the government is limited and not known exactly in advance. Because of this, it is unfortunately not possible to provide seating to every guest who booked chairs with us, even if the booking was made months ahead of the event. Please understand that booking with Club Canary was the best chance to secure official seating. There were no extra chairs available elsewhere. Our team reserved all possible seats from the authorised companies. We understand that some of you may feel disappointed or unhappy about this situation. Please know that this is also very stressful for our team. We truly did everything we could to secure seating for everyone, and we are very sorry that this happened. As mentioned in our policy, there was a small chance that seating could not be confirmed due to limited official supply. Unfortunately, this year demand was much higher than expected, with many guests booking very far in advance.
Booked Seating Only?
If you booked seating only and seating cannot be confirmed, you may be contacted in the coming days. In that case, you will receive a full refund. This is not due to overbooking, but simply because the official supply is limited. All bus transfers remain confirmed and available. As an alternative, we can offer an exchange to reserved seating for the Ritmo y Armonía Carnival event on 14 February, plus a refund of the price difference.
Please note that tribune seating is not normally available as a standalone ticket. Due to very high demand and limited allocation, tribune seats are typically offered only as part of a package that includes bus transport. To accommodate guests who do not require the transfer, Club Canary has arranged a special collaboration with suppliers. Under this arrangement, we still purchase the full package (bus + tribune seating) on your behalf, even if only the seating is used. This is why tribune seating offered without using the bus is priced differently. In short, you are receiving access to a seating option that is not usually sold on its own, made possible through a special arrangement by Club Canary.
How Your Tenerife Carnival Parade Day Looks
🔥 What You’ll See on the Coso Apoteosis Parade Trip 2026
Step 1 – Get ready for Carnival
Dress up if you like. Latin style outfits, bright colours and fun accessories fit the Los Ritmos Latinos theme very well. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, some cash and your phone for photos.
Step 2 – Pick up from the south
Pick ups normally start around 12:15 from hotels in the main tourist areas in the south of Tenerife. There is no toilet on the bus, so it is good to use the facilities before you leave. Because of Carnival traffic, the drive can take around 1.5 hours.
Step 3 – Arrival and seating
Thanks to special access, the bus leaves you close to the parade route. If you have reserved podium seating, you are guided to the correct block where your
chairs are located. If you booked with friends or family we always try to seat you next to each other when possible.
Step 4 – Watch the Coso Apoteosis Parade
The parade usually lasts around 3.5 to 4 hours. From your seat you can enjoy floats, queens, dancers and bands playing Latin rhythms like salsa, merengue and reggaeton. You are free to leave the seating area for food, drinks or photos and come back by showing your ticket.
Step 5 – Return to your hotel
After the last part of the parade passes, you meet again with your group at the agreed place. The return from Santa Cruz is usually around 19:30. Most guests are back in the south of Tenerife about 1.5 hours later, depending on traffic.
⏱️ Total experience time: about 6 to 7 hours. Perfect for visitors who want the main Tenerife Carnival parade in a single, well organised day, without staying out all night.
Why Choose This Tenerife Carnival Parade
This experience is perfect for visitors who want to see the main Tenerife Carnival parade but do not want to stay out all night in Santa Cruz. Without a transfer, most visitors have to arrive very early, walk long distances and stand for hours to keep a viewing spot. With Club Canary you can focus on enjoying the parade instead of fighting the crowds. With this trip you get:
- The most important day of the Santa Cruz Carnival in one program.
- Easy access from the south of Tenerife without worrying about driving, parking or public transport.
- The option to add reserved podium seating so you can see the parade in comfort.
- Free time to walk, eat, drink and enjoy the Latin carnival atmosphere at your own pace.
Santa Cruz Carnival Bus Transfer From South Tenerife
On carnival day the roads to Santa Cruz are extremely busy, many streets are closed and parking is almost impossible. Our Tenerife Carnival bus transfer is designed for tourists staying in the south or Puerto de la Cruz who want a safe and simple solution.
- Hotel based pick up and drop off in the main tourist areas in the south of Tenerife.
- Private buses that only run for the Coso Apoteosis parade, not regular line buses.
- Special access permission to get you as close as possible to the parade route.
- English speaking staff on the day and instructions before and during the trip.
Reserved Podium Seating For Coso Apoteosis
For the Coso Apoteosis day, you can add reserved tribune seating. These are simple chairs on a raised podium along the parade route. This is not a luxury or VIP service, but it offers what many people look for on this day: a guaranteed seat and a clear view of the parade. Reserved seating is normally offered only as part of a bus transfer package, as availability is extremely limited. To accommodate guests who do not need transport, Club Canary can offer seating without using the bus through a special arrangement, which is why this option is priced differently. Most guests choose the bus + seating combination for the smoothest experience. The bus transfer itself can always be guaranteed; seating availability cannot.
Club Canary typically starts pre-selling these options around 8 months in advance. However, the exact number of seats available can vary from year to year. We always make careful estimates and do our best to accommodate everyone who books in time, but availability is ultimately determined by the event organizers and is not fully within our control. It’s also important to note that Coso Apoteosis is a free public event. Many locals attend by arriving early with their own camping chairs or foldable “in-and-out” chairs and still enjoy an excellent view along the route. Reserved seating is simply an optional extra for those who prefer a guaranteed place to sit.
We fully understand that many guests would like to have a seat, which is why we offer this option whenever possible. In rare cases where seating cannot be confirmed, we will always communicate transparently and look for a fair solution, such as a full refund if applicable. Please note that issuing refunds is never our preferred outcome, as it also means transaction costs, operational work, and reputational impact on our side. Nonetheless, we do this to remain fair and transparent.
We kindly ask for understanding and respectful communication in these situations. Applying pressure, making threats, or requesting special exceptions will not increase availability and only makes the process more difficult for everyone involved. Carnival is about much more than sitting on a tribune, and many people still enjoy the event fully without reserved seating. As stated in our terms and conditions, some circumstances are beyond our control, but we always do our best to help wherever possible.
- Your chair is reserved for you for the full event. You may leave and come back.
- From the podium you can see the floats, dancers and bands without people blocking you.
- There is a toilet area for guests with reserved seating. It can still be busy, but it is easier than public toilets.
- You can move around, buy food or drinks, visit attractions and then show your ticket to re enter the seated area.
Bottom Line
If you are staying in the south of Tenerife and want the main Coso Apoteosis Tenerife Carnival parade without the stress of driving, parking or fighting for a viewing spot, this is the trip to book. You get the big Latin carnival show in one organised day, with the option of podium seating so you can actually see the parade in comfort.
Club Canary is the go-to agency for this event, moving large numbers of guests every year in well planned private buses and grouping people by hotel area for smoother pick-ups. You book safely online, get fast confirmation and local support before and during the carnival. Prices usually increase closer to the date and once our buses and seats are full, no extra places can be added.
