The Atlantic Star is a small sailing yacht for whale watching in Tenerife. It takes max 10 people, so no big crowds like on the catamarans. Don’t worry about comfort, this boat is really cozy, with soft cushions to relax on. It’s a sailing boat, but not “extreme sailing”, most of the time the sails aren’t even used. Here are some essential tips for your Atlantic Star Tenerife tour:

• Travel Essentials: Don’t forget your Club Canary ticket, which can be digital or printed. Remember to pack swimwear, a towel, and sunscreen for a comfortable journey.
• Multilingual Crew: Our crew members speak several languages, ensuring clear communication and a welcoming atmosphere for all passengers.
• Intimate Experience: With a maximum of 10 participants per tour, enjoy a personalized and intimate journey aboard the Atlantic Star.
• Preparation and Comfort: Avoid boarding on an empty stomach and minimize the risk of seasickness by refraining from alcohol before departure. Consider taking a travel sickness tablet 30 minutes prior to boarding. Onboard, find sunbathing spots and shaded sitting areas for your comfort.
• Safety and Regulations: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Rest assured, there are toilet facilities and a designated changing room onboard. Shoes and flip-flops will be stored securely during the trip.
• Special Considerations: Infants under 1 year old join free of charge but should be noted in advance. While wheelchairs are not allowed onboard due to space limitations, our crew provides assistance for safe boarding.
• Smoking Policy: Smoking is permitted only at the rear of the boat to ensure the comfort of all passengers.

Important Timing & Trip Duration Information: Please make sure to arrive on time! The Atlantic Star follows a strict schedule and cannot wait for late arrivals. If you arrive late and miss the departure, you will lose your downpayment and still need to pay the remaining balance. We strongly recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early. There are plenty of cafés nearby where you can relax and have a drink while you wait, this helps ensure you don’t risk missing the trip.

Trip Duration: The Atlantic Star trip is planned for approximately 3 hours. However, the exact duration can vary slightly. It will never be shorter than 2.5 hours, but factors such as the weather forecast, group needs, possible delays, or even seeing whales and dolphins very early in the tour can affect timing. We always aim to provide the best and safest experience for everyone on board.

Atlantic Star’s Puerto Colon Departure Point

Prepare for your Atlantic Star adventure with essential details about the departure location at Puerto Colon:

• Meeting Point: Head to Gate 0 in Costa Adeje, Puerto Colon, located in front of the Yubari sushi restaurant. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
• Guided Assistance: Upon arrival, our guide will meet you at the gate and accompany you to the boat, ensuring a smooth boarding process.
• Parking Facilities: Ample parking is available at the port of Puerto Colon, with an hourly rate of approximately 1.20€. Rest assured, your vehicle will be securely parked during the excursion.

Guarantee Assurance:

At Club Canary, we’re thrilled to introduce the Atlantic Star Tenerife whale guarantee. We want every traveler to experience the beauty of these majestic creatures in their natural habitat without feeling like they’re taking a gamble with their booking.

Terms of the Guarantee:

1. Whale Sightings: The guarantee ensures sightings of whales, but not specific species. Most commonly, you may encounter the captivating pilot whales. For more about them, click here.
2. Nature’s Unpredictability: While we guarantee sightings, it’s crucial to understand that these are wild creatures. Sometimes, they may only surface briefly or show their fins. A sighting, even if it’s just a fin spotted within 30 meters, qualifies as successful whale watching.
3. Seasickness Modifications: On rare occasions, the boat may need to return prematurely due to severe seasickness among passengers. In such instances, the whale guarantee fee will be refunded. However, compensation for not spotting whales isn’t provided as it’s beyond our control.
4. Weather Conditions: Occasionally, adverse weather may force a change in the route, or a trip might be cut short. In these cases, while solutions will be discussed with the manager, the whale guarantee does not apply.
5. Guarantee Applicability: The guarantee stands valid for a standard trip, without any special changes brought about by unforeseen events like illnesses, accidents, or sudden weather shifts.
6. Claiming a Refund: When we say “full refund,” we mean the boat trip’s cost. However, the 15€ guarantee fee isn’t returned – think of it as your insurance cost. If you’ve chosen the whale sighting guarantee and didn’t spot any whales or dolphins, get a confirmation from the Atlantic Star’s captain. We’ll process your refund based on this trustworthy captain’s confirmation and any pictures taken during the trip. Remember, our team isn’t on the boat, but we fully trust the Atlantic Star crew and rely on their honesty.

Cancellation & Rescheduling:

At Club Canary, we make booking easy with just a deposit to reserve your spot. Here are our policies to ensure fairness and manage reservations effectively:

• Individuals & Small Groups (up to 4): Free modifications or cancellations up to 24 hours before the trip.
• Large Groups (5+): Please provide a 48-hour notice for complimentary changes or cancellations. Contact us at office@clubcanary.com for assistance.

Late Cancellation/No-show:

Deposit Policy: Your deposit secures your place but doesn’t cover lost opportunities if you fail to show. By booking, you agree to the following:

• Cancellations outside the free period but made more than 6 hours before for small groups (24 hours for larger groups) will incur a 50% charge of the expected balance.
• No-shows are liable for 100% of the remaining amount.
• Late arrivals (up to 15 minutes past the meeting time) who provide photographic proof at the meeting point will be charged 65% of the balance. We’ll attempt to accommodate you on another boat or the next available trip when possible.

Weather-related Cancellations:

This experience heavily depends on suitable weather. If we have to cancel due to unsuitable weather conditions, you’ll have the option to either reschedule or receive a full refund.
