North Tenerife Tour, Quick Facts
North Tenerife Tour, Santa Cruz, La Laguna & Anaga
See the green, cultural side of Tenerife that most visitors never reach. In one day you explore the capital of Santa Cruz, the old UNESCO city of La Laguna, and the ancient laurel forests of the Anaga mountains, all by comfortable air-conditioned coach, with a multilingual guide and no driving. It is the perfect follow-up to the Teide and Masca tour, so together you get to know the whole island. Honest heads-up: this is more about nature, history and cities than volcano drama, so it suits people who want to really see Tenerife.
Most people never leave the south. This is the day that shows you the real, greener north.
Discover The Cultural North Of Tenerife
This is one of our popular cultural sightseeing tours, and it is the day that shows you the real island. Most people visiting Tenerife never leave the south, so they miss the capital, the old colonial streets, and the misty forests of the north. This tour fixes that, and it pairs perfectly with your time in the south.
If you have already enjoyed the volcanic drama of the Teide and Masca route, this is the perfect contrast: lush, historical and a little cosmopolitan. Two very different sides of one island.
🗺️ The Three Main Stops
Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The lively capital. See Plaza de España, Plaza Weyler and the África market, where striking modern architecture meets a deep maritime history.
Historic La Laguna
A UNESCO World Heritage city. Wander the colonial old town, the cathedral and Plaza del Adelantado.
Anaga Rural Park
A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Ancient laurel forest and viewpoints like Cruz del Carmen and La Jardina.
⏱️ Tour time: about 8 hours, a full, relaxed island day from south to north.
🚚 Do The Teide & Masca Tour First
We usually suggest starting with the Teide & Masca tour (volcano and west), then doing this north tour after. Together they cover almost the whole island. You can book them both.

The Capital, Santa Cruz.
Your day begins in the lively capital. You see the modern landmarks like the Auditorio de Tenerife and soak up the feel of a city that blends contemporary design with traditional Spanish culture.
Walking Through History, La Laguna.
Next, the island's former capital, La Laguna. Known for its colonial architecture and its UNESCO World Heritage status, it feels a world apart from the beach resorts of the south.
The Green Heart, Anaga.
The final stop is Anaga. This ancient mountain range, often wrapped in mist, feels prehistoric, almost like a fairytale. It is a lovely finale for anyone who wants to see the natural side that makes Tenerife so varied.

The questions people ask most about the north tour, from how it compares to the Teide tour to who it suits. Still unsure? Message our local team on WhatsApp, we help fast.
Which days does the north Tenerife tour run?
From the south of Tenerife it runs on Monday and Thursday. From Puerto de la Cruz it runs on Tuesday and Thursday. El Médano pickup is available on Monday only. Your exact pickup day and time are shown when you book and confirmed on your ticket.
What do you see on the north Tenerife tour?
Three very different sides of the island in one day. In Santa Cruz you see the lively capital, with Plaza de España and the África market. In La Laguna you walk the old UNESCO town, the cathedral and Plaza del Adelantado. In Anaga, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, you enjoy ancient laurel forest and viewpoints like Cruz del Carmen. The order of the stops can vary depending on your pickup point.
How is this different from the Teide and Masca tour?
The Teide and Masca tour is about volcanic landscapes and dramatic mountain scenery in the west. This north tour is greener and more cultural: the capital, the historic UNESCO city of La Laguna and the misty forests of Anaga. We usually suggest doing Teide and Masca first, then this one, so together you see almost the whole island.
Is lunch included on the north tour?
A break for lunch is included, so you have time to try Canarian food at a local restaurant, but the food and drinks themselves are not included. You can also bring your own snacks, and it is worth bringing a bottle of water. The day lasts about 8 hours.
Can I be picked up from Puerto de la Cruz?
Yes, on Tuesday and Thursday the tour departs from the north with pickup in Puerto de la Cruz. There is an extra charge of 8€ per adult and 4€ per child, and the full amount is paid to Club Canary at booking. On other days, pickup is from the main south Tenerife areas.
Is the tour suitable for older travellers, children and babies?
Yes. It is a comfortable coach tour with no driving, which suits older travellers well, and children aged 2 to 11 are welcome at a reduced price. Babies go free and should not be added to the booking, just let us know. Please note there is no toilet on board and the bus is not wheelchair accessible, so tell us about any walking difficulties when booking.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
Deposit And Payment
- You reserve with a small deposit. You pay the rest on the day. The deposit is part of the total price.
Your Free Cancellation Window
- 1 to 3 people: free up to 48 hours before the trip.
- 4 to 7 people: free up to 4 days before.
- 8 or more people: free up to 7 days before.
- Big groups are hard to refill at the last minute. That is the only reason. If your group only gets smaller, tell us at least 48 hours before and we lower the price. To cancel, email office@clubcanary.com.
After Your Free Window Closes
- You cancel after your free window, but more than 24 hours before? You lose your deposit. You pay nothing more.
- You cancel between 12 and 24 hours before? You lose your deposit, and you still pay 80% of the rest. We send you a payment link.
- You cancel less than 12 hours before, you do not show up, or you arrive too late? You lose your deposit, and you still pay the full rest. We send you a payment link.
- Our partner charges us the full price for your reserved places either way. That is why the deposit alone can never cover a late cancellation.
The Only Exception
- The only exception is a real doctor or hospital paper that says you cannot join. It must have a date from before the trip, or the same morning. A paper made after the trip does not count. We need this document for our partner. Feeling unwell without this paper is not enough for a refund. We know this is strict, and we are sorry, but it is the only way we can protect against last-minute cancellations.
Missing The Bus
- During the tour you get free time at some stops. Your guide tells you a clear time to be back. If you are not back in time, the bus leaves and you do not get money back. Every bus has GPS, so we can check all pickups.
By Booking You Accept This
By booking with Club Canary, you confirm you have read and accepted this policy. It is not to make things difficult. It is what lets us offer easy booking with a small deposit in advance. A deposit alone does not cover the cost of a no-show or a last-minute cancellation. That is why these terms exist. If something genuinely goes wrong, talk to us. We will always try to find a fair solution.

Club Canary's Honest Take
Real talk from your local team in the Canary Islands
This is one of our popular tours, and the reason is simple: most people visiting Tenerife never leave the south. You get to see the real island. Santa Cruz, La Laguna and Anaga are all genuinely worth a visit, and very different from the resort areas most tourists spend their whole holiday in.
Be honest with yourself before booking. This is a full day on a bus with stops along the way. If sitting on a coach for around 8 hours does not appeal to you, this probably is not your tour. But if you want to see the greener, more cultural, less touristy side of Tenerife without renting a car and driving mountain roads, this is one of the easiest ways to do it.
Anaga in particular is the kind of place most visitors never find on their own. Ancient forest, mountain mist, viewpoints over the Atlantic. If you love nature, that part alone makes the day worth it.
Not the most action-packed day, but if you want to actually see Tenerife rather than just the beach, this is the tour to book. We suggest doing Teide and Masca first, then this one.
