More Ways To Fly With Club Canary
The Adeje helicopter also does more than sightseeing. Because we arrange these flights directly, we can set up a few special options that go beyond a normal tour.
Fly between the Canary Islands by helicopter, for example Tenerife to La Gomera, La Palma or Gran Canaria. The helicopter is based in Tenerife, so island transfers cost more, but they are very possible, and we have arranged them many times.

Is a helicopter tour in Tenerife worth it?
A helicopter tour in Tenerife is a short, easy way to see the island from above, and most Club Canary guests book it for the views and the feeling of flying. It costs more than a normal excursion, so it suits a special day like a birthday or anniversary. If that sounds like your kind of thing, it is a nice one to do.
How much does a helicopter tour in Tenerife cost?
At Club Canary, a helicopter tour in Tenerife starts from 110€ per person for the 7-minute Southern Coasts route. Longer routes cost more: Beaches and Ravines 159€, The Giants 295€, Isla Baja 430€ and Grand Teide Luxury 545€. All prices are per person for a shared flight.
Is a helicopter tour in Tenerife safe?
Yes. Every helicopter tour Club Canary sells is operated by a licensed company with experienced pilots and a safety briefing before take-off. Seats are set by weight for balance, and the pilot decides on route, timing and weather. If conditions are not safe, the flight is rescheduled.
How long does the helicopter flight last?
It depends on the route you choose with Club Canary. The shortest flight is 7 minutes and the longest is 40 minutes. Plan a little extra time at the Adeje heliport for check-in, the safety briefing and boarding.
Where does the helicopter tour in Tenerife start?
All Club Canary helicopter tours leave from the Adeje heliport in the south of Tenerife, close to Costa Adeje and Playa de las Américas. It is a self-arrival experience, so there is no hotel pick-up.
Can I see Teide from the helicopter?
You get Teide views on the longer routes. The Giants (18 minutes) shows Teide on the way back, and Grand Teide Luxury (40 minutes) is the full loop with the most mountain scenery. Club Canary can help you pick the route with the best Teide views for your budget.
Which helicopter route flies over Los Gigantes?
The Giants route (18 minutes, 295€) flies to the Los Gigantes cliffs. Isla Baja and Grand Teide Luxury also pass Los Gigantes on the way further north. Ask the Club Canary team if you are not sure which route fits your day.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Helicopter flights depend on the weather. If conditions are not safe, Club Canary reschedules your flight, and if that is not possible you get a full refund. Morning slots are used because visibility and wind are usually better.
Are photos included in the helicopter tour?
No. After landing, the operator may show a photo and video package from your flight. You can buy it or skip it, it is not part of the Club Canary price. Message the team if you want to know the current photo price before you fly.
Is a helicopter tour good for a proposal or special occasion?
Yes, it works well for birthdays, anniversaries and proposals because it feels private and different. Tell the Club Canary team what you are planning and they can arrange a private flight or add extras like a boat trip or luxury car.
Do Canary Islands residents get a discount?
Yes. Club Canary gives residents 5% off with valid proof, and the same person must fly. Ask the team for your resident code before booking your helicopter tour in Tenerife.
Please note: helicopter bookings have strict cancellation policies. In most cases, cancellations are not free. If you cancel after booking, up to 50% of the paid amount may be lost. Within 48 hours before the flight, cancellations are no longer possible and the full amount is charged. These rules are set by the helicopter operator and apply to all bookings. If you prefer more flexibility, you can contact Club Canary in advance. In some cases, we can temporarily reserve your helicopter tour date and allow you to confirm and pay closer to your travel time (for example, around 1–2 weeks before). Once the booking is confirmed and payment is made, the standard cancellation policy will apply.
What if a passenger weighs over 110 kg?
Passengers over 110 kg book the next seat up at 50% of the fare, which keeps the helicopter balanced and gives a more private row. Club Canary arranges this for you, just message the team with your details and they sort it out.
How many people can fly together?
Each helicopter flight takes up to 4 passengers plus the pilot. Larger groups are split into several flights, or Club Canary can book a private full-helicopter flight. Couples and families are seated together where possible.
Why book a helicopter tour with Club Canary?
Club Canary is a local team with a real office in Costa Adeje. They only take payment after confirming real availability, give honest advice on which route fits, and help with weight, seating and special requests before the day. Support is available 7 days a week.
What should I bring on the day?
Bring a valid passport, ID, DNI or NIE for each passenger and your Club Canary ticket. Also bring a sweater or light jacket in case it feels chilly, since the temperature inside the helicopter is similar to outside.
Is there an age limit for helicopter tours in Tenerife?
Children weighing 15 kg or more can join helicopter tours. Babies under 15 kg can fly when booked together with two adults, which reserves the entire back row.
Can I book first and pay extra only if I am overweight on the day?
In most cases, no. This must always be checked with Club Canary in advance.
Weight is checked on the day of the flight, and if the limit is exceeded, an extra seat must be paid before flying. If this has not been arranged in advance, it can cause problems with seating and availability.
If you already know you are over 110 kg, it is important to inform us before booking. Trying to arrange this on the day is risky, especially if other passengers are already assigned. In some cases, the pilot may decide that the flight cannot go ahead for safety reasons, and this could result in not being able to fly without a refund.
To avoid any issues, always double-check your situation with Club Canary before confirming your booking.
Can overweight passengers get a private helicopter flight?
We understand it can be annoying to pay more just because you slightly cross a weight limit, but this is a fixed safety policy. In certain situations, we may offer a middle solution where you book a total of three seats and fly privately, even though the helicopter can normally carry four passengers. This guarantees that no other passengers will join you. This option is not automatic and must always be checked and approved by Club Canary before booking.
If I book two tickets, will we sit next to each other?
In most cases, yes. We always try to seat couples and families together, and for bookings like two adults with a child, sitting together is almost always possible.
However, seating depends on weight balance for safety. In some cases, especially if there is a large weight difference, one person may need to sit in the front and the other in the back. This is decided by the pilot to keep the helicopter stable.
Why is seating not always together?
For safety reasons, weight must be balanced inside the helicopter. If too much weight is placed on one side, the helicopter would lean during the flight, which affects stability and comfort.
Because of this, the pilot decides the seating arrangement. Even though we always try to keep people together, safety always comes first.
How can I guarantee the entire back row for myself?
To guarantee the full back row for yourself, you must book three seats. This ensures that no other passengers will sit next to you.
Many couples choose this option to enjoy a more private and comfortable helicopter tour in Tenerife, with extra space and no one in the middle seat.
This is also a popular option for families with one child. Since there is no child discount, booking three seats allows you to have the entire back row together, with the child seated comfortably between the parents.
Do I get a free collectible card with my helicopter tour?
A: Yes. Every helicopter booking with Club Canary comes with a free card from The Club Canary Collection, the first collectible card set of the Canary Islands. We print the physical card at our Costa Adeje office, so you collect it there in person, we do not post it. Message us before you come and we will have it ready, and you also get a digital version by email. If you are marking a special moment, like a birthday or a marriage proposal, it makes a really nice keepsake to take home.
