Jet Ski Safari Tenerife, Quick Facts
Jet Ski Safari Tenerife, Two Hours On The Open Ocean
This is the proper jet ski safari Tenerife is known for, not a twenty minute loop at a hotel kiosk. A long guided route from Las Galletas covering roughly 60 km of the volcanic south coast on stable Sea-Doo jet skis, in a small group of about eight. Pickup from a meeting point near your hotel is included.
We will be straight about how much of the two hours is actually on the water, and about the one thing this safari is not. Scroll on, we hold nothing back.
Pickup from a meeting point near your hotel is included on every booking. You reserve with a small deposit and pay the rest on the day. Club Canary is a neutral local team: we book the licensed safari operators in the south, and when our first choice is full we place you with another partner we trust, so your date still works. Real people on WhatsApp every day from 08:00 to 22:00, and we test these trips ourselves. Best Price Guarantee included. Rated 4.8/5 from 1,400+ verified reviews.
Single Jet Ski 140€. Double 160€. Pickup included. Deposit from 30€.
Jet Ski Safari Tenerife, What To Expect
Think of it as a road trip on the ocean. You ride your own jet ski in a small group of about eight, behind a guide who leads in a support boat. The route runs along roughly 60 km of the south coast: open ocean, waves, volcanic cliffs and long views, with moments to open the throttle and moments to slow down and look around. Watch the safari video to get the feel of it.
Honest Expectations
The trip is sold as 2 hours and here is the honest breakdown: around 1.5 hours of that is on the water. The rest is check-in, gear and the safety briefing. On smooth days the ride can run closer to the full two hours. Either way it is more water time than any other jet ski trip in Tenerife.

A road trip on the ocean 🌊 Follow the guide, feel the waves, and still have time to look around. That is the safari difference.
Single Or Double Jet Ski, Which Should You Book?
Same route, same guide, same two hours. The only question is whether you want your own machine.
Single Jet Ski, 140€
- One rider, your own Sea-Doo for the whole safari.
- Full control from the first wave to the last.
- Deposit 30€, balance 110€ at the base.
The choice if you came for the driving itself.
Double Jet Ski, 160€
- Two people sharing, one drives and one rides.
- Driver swap on the route when the guide allows it.
- Deposit 40€, balance 120€ at the base.
Works out at 80€ each for two.
Couples and friends: the double is the sociable option and there is normally time to swap drivers on a safari this long. Two adults at full speed is a little less comfortable, so if you both want maximum freedom, book two singles.
Group discount from 3 jet skis, applied automatically in the booking calendar so the price you see is the price you pay.
Optional on the day: action photos taken from the guide boat, roughly 20 to 30€.

The Jet Ski Safari Route, 60 km Of Volcanic South Coast
This is what separates a jet ski coast tour from a rental. You are not circling a buoy in a bay, you are covering real distance on open ocean along the volcanic coastline of southern Tenerife, past cliffs, lava rock and long stretches of water with nothing else on it.
Out Of Las Galletas. The group forms up and heads out of Marina del Sur onto open water.
Along The Volcanic Coast. Dark lava cliffs, sea caves and the dry southern landscape from a viewpoint no road reaches. This is the sightseeing half of the safari.
Past Palm Mar. The route runs along this stretch of coast, so if you are staying in Palm Mar you may recognise your own beach from the water.
Open Ocean Stretches. Where the guide opens it up and you find out what a Sea-Doo actually does. This is the fast part.
Slower Moments. The guide eases off for the ocean views and for action photos from the support boat. A possible swim stop when conditions allow.
A long jet ski trip like this, a long distance jet ski excursion in every sense, is a genuinely different thing from a short ride, and it is why people call it a safari rather than a jet ski tour Tenerife wide. You settle into the machine, stop thinking about the throttle, and start noticing where you are.
Why Two Hours Beats A Short Ride
Short rides are fine for a quick blast. A 2 hour jet ski Tenerife safari is for people who want the real thing: everyone in the group booked the same long route, so nobody is being rushed back for the next rental slot.
You get time to learn the jet ski, relax into it, enjoy the coast and swap drivers on a double. Pickup is included, and the 10:00 departure has you back at your hotel around 12:30 with the whole afternoon free.

One rider, full control 🏁 Your own Sea-Doo for the whole route. Freedom mode, start to finish.
Pickup Points, How It Works Now
Pickup is included in the price, from a set meeting point near your hotel rather than from every hotel door. Do not worry: the points are a few minutes on foot from the resorts, usually a bus stop or a well known hotel, and it makes the run much smoother, because some hotels have no stopping zone at all. Your exact point and time are on your ticket.
- Paradise Park, bus stop
- Sol Arona, bus stop
- Marylanza
- Sama Sama, parking area
- Granada Park
- Columbus
- Hard Rock Café
- Best Tenerife
- Gara Suites
- Oro Negro, parking area
- Palm Beach
- Meeting points being finalised
- We send yours with your ticket
Be there 5 minutes early. The minibus leaves on time and does not wait, because the other riders are on the same clock. Missing the pickup counts as a no-show.
After the safari, the transfer back can take a little while depending on traffic. Wait at the base, it comes.
Worth knowing: this safari departs from Las Galletas, not from Puerto Colón. The transfer takes you there and back, so it makes no difference to your day.
Hotel with no walking option? Mobility issue, small children, a hotel far from any point? Tell us before you book and we ask the driver what is possible.
⚠️ Prefer to drive to Las Galletas yourself? That is possible only by arrangement. Message us on WhatsApp before booking. Direct arrivals pay the full amount in advance, the price stays the same, and you meet the team here at least 30 minutes early. Honest reason: the base is past the airport, that road jams without warning, and the safari cannot wait.

- 6About 2 Hours Total
Back To The Harbour And Hotel
Change, collect your things, look at the action photos if you want them, and the transfer brings you back to your meeting point.
Four Rules The Base Is Strict About
We would rather you read these now than hear them at the harbour.
Not even a GoPro in a pouch or on a strap. It is a safety rule of the base, not ours. Leave everything in the locker; the guide boat takes the action shots.
Every rider shows one at check-in. A photo or a copy on your phone is accepted. Under 24? Always bring it.
Paying the balance by card at the base only works with a printed copy of your ticket. No print, cash only. Swing by our office in Plaza del Duque and we print it for free, or simply bring cash.
Alcohol, drugs or heavy medication before the ride means no ride and no refund. Single jet ski max 120 kg, double max 160 kg combined.
Guided By Law, And Why That Works In Your Favour
In Tenerife jet skiing must be guided by law, so there is no version of this where you take a machine out alone. That sounds like a restriction and in practice it is the reason this trip is any good.
A guide with a support boat means the group can cover 60 km of open coast safely, reach places a rental would never let you go, and stop for photos and a swim. A safe guided jet ski tour is not the compromise, it is the product.

Safety first, always ✅ Life jacket on, briefing done, wetsuit if you want one. Then the fun starts.
Beginners, Couples, Families And Adventure Riders
The route suits more people than you would expect, because the guide sets the pace and the Sea-Doos are stable.
Beginners. No experience needed. The briefing covers everything and there is no brake, you release the throttle to slow. Most first-timers are comfortable within minutes.
Couples. A double with a driver swap is the sociable choice, or two singles if you both want to ride properly.
Families. A family jet ski safari works here: children from 7 can ride as passengers with an adult, and driving starts at 16 with written permission from a parent or guardian.
Adventure riders. As a jet ski adventure Tenerife has little else like it: sixty kilometres of open ocean on a Sea-Doo GTI reaching 50 to 60 km/h is a proper day out, not a photo opportunity.

Two on one, share the fun 💕 One drives, one enjoys the view, and you can swap when the guide allows it.
Is This A Real Safari, Or A Tourist Trap?
Fair question, and worth answering plainly because plenty of things sold on this coast do not deserve the price.
What makes it a real jet ski safari: 60 km of route, around 1.5 hours actually on the water, a licensed operator, a support boat, and a small group of about eight rather than a queue.
What we will not pretend: the two hours include check-in and the briefing. We tell you that up front rather than letting you count the minutes on the water and feel short-changed.
No street sellers, no commission chain. You book direct with a local team, at a Best Price Guarantee, and we have ridden this route ourselves. That is what makes it a unique experience rather than a product sold to you on a promenade.
If a quick blast is genuinely what you want, the 1 hour jet ski ride costs less and we will happily point you there instead.
Best Time To Go Jet Skiing In Tenerife
This safari runs at 10:00 and 12:00 on purpose. Mornings bring the calmest water, which is friendlier for beginners, and the lightest traffic around Las Galletas, so pickups run smoothly. Go at 10:00 and you are back at the hotel around 12:30 with the whole afternoon still yours.
Want a different time? Message us first and we will check what is possible for your date.
Can You See Dolphins? The Honest Answer
Dolphins can sometimes appear, but this is not a whale or dolphin watching tour, and no jet ski company is allowed to promise sightings. If wildlife shows up, the guide puts the engines in neutral, keeps a respectful distance and follows Tenerife's marine rules while you enjoy the moment.
Book this safari for the jet ski experience. For guaranteed animal focus, take a proper whale watching tour in Tenerife instead.
Sunset Moments On The Water
In the summer season a later departure can sometimes be arranged, and when the timing is right the ride home turns golden. Sunset trips depend on the season, the weather and the schedule, so this exact view is never guaranteed, but when it happens it is one of the more legendary ways to finish a day in Tenerife. Message us to check what your dates allow.

The golden finish 🌅 When the season and timing line up, the ride home turns gold. Never promised, always legendary when it happens.
Where Is The Best Place To Book A Jet Ski Safari In Tenerife?
Book with a neutral local team rather than a street seller or a faraway platform. Club Canary works with the licensed safari operators in the south and tests the trips personally, so when one team is fully booked we place you with another partner we trust and your date still works.
You get the Best Price Guarantee, a small deposit instead of full prepayment, and support from people who live here. Booking online a few days ahead is ideal, or visit our office in Costa Adeje inside Plaza del Duque.

Jet Ski Safari Tenerife, Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask us most about the jet ski safari in Tenerife. Still unsure? Chat with our local team on WhatsApp, we help fast.
What is the best jet ski safari in Tenerife?
The best jet ski safari Tenerife for a real ocean experience is this 2-hour guided route from Las Galletas. It is longer, better organised, uses stable Sea-Doo jet skis, and includes free hotel pickup, which makes it the no-brainer choice for clever travelers and guests staying in 4 and 5 star hotels. Other trips are short beach loops. This is the signature jet ski safari of the island.
Why is this jet ski safari considered a no-brainer deal?
Because for roughly the price of a short harbour ride you get the long version: about 60 km of coast, around an hour and a half actually on the water, a guide with a support boat, a small group of about eight, and pickup from a meeting point near your hotel included. You eat breakfast, walk a few minutes to the point, and the rest is organised. Compared with a twenty minute loop near a beach kiosk it is not close.
Can you join the jet ski safari Tenerife while pregnant?
No, not at any stage. The open ocean is bumpy even on a calm day, and the jolts on a wave are exactly what should be avoided during pregnancy. The operator refuses pregnant riders for safety and insurance reasons, and so do we. Tell us before booking and we help you find something gentler, a boat trip or a catamaran afternoon for example.
What is the minimum age for this jet ski tour Tenerife?
Passengers from 7 years old, sitting behind an adult on a double jet ski. Drivers from 16 years old, with written permission from a parent or guardian, and every driver under 24 brings a valid ID to check-in. Younger children stay on land; there is no exception to that one, because a life jacket does not make a four year old safe at speed on open water.
Do I need to wear a wetsuit for the jet ski safari Tenerife?
Not required. Most people ride in swimwear from spring to autumn. On cooler or windier days, or if you simply feel the cold, the base lends you a wetsuit for free at check-in. Bring swimwear under your clothes, a towel and sunscreen, and decide on the suit when you see the water.
How do you drive a jet ski?
One lever. Squeeze the throttle under your right hand to go, let it go to slow down, and lean a little into the turns. There is no brake and nothing to shift. The guide explains it on land, you practise the first minutes at low speed out of the harbour, and most first-timers are relaxed before the group reaches open water. If it is your first time, say so, the guide keeps an eye on you.
How fast do the jet skis go?
The Sea-Doo GTI 130 models reach about 50 to 60 km/h, which feels a lot faster on open water than it sounds on paper. The speed is set at the maximum the insurance and the sea allow; faster would not be more fun, it would just be more falls. On the open stretches the guide lets the group open up, on the scenic stretches everyone slows down to look around.
What is the maximum weight limit per jet ski?
A single jet ski carries a maximum of 120 kg, a double a maximum of 160 kg for both riders together, and never more than two people per jet ski. These are the operator's safety limits and they are checked at the base; over the limit means no ride and no refund. Close to the limit? Message Club Canary before booking and we advise which option fits.
Can I swap drivers during the jet ski safari?
Yes, on a double jet ski. The guide stops the group at calm moments along the route and that is when you swap seats, as often as the conditions allow on a ride this long. Two singles are the option if you both want to drive the whole way.
Does this jet ski safari include a swimming stop?
Often, not always. When the sea is calm the guide picks a sheltered spot for a short swim from the jet skis, which is one of the best moments of the trip. When the swell or the current is up, the stop is skipped for safety. It is a bonus, not a promise, so do not book for the swim alone.
Where does the jet ski safari Tenerife start?
All departures begin at Marina del Sur in Las Galletas. Pickup is included from set meeting points near your hotel in Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje, usually a bus stop or a well known hotel a few minutes on foot from where you stay. Playa Paraíso and Callao Salvaje carry a small supplement paid on the day; La Caleta and Palm Mar, ask us and we check the nearest point.
How does the pickup service work?
Write your hotel name when booking and Club Canary assigns the closest meeting point; apartment or Airbnb guests write the nearest hotel. Your point and time come with your ticket, usually about 30 minutes before the start. Be there five minutes early, the minibus leaves on time and does not wait, and a missed pickup counts as a no-show. After the safari the transfer back can take a little while depending on traffic, so wait at the base.
Can I arrive directly at the jet ski base instead of using pickup?
Only by arrangement with Club Canary before booking, and direct arrivals pay the full amount in advance. The reason is simple: the base is past the airport and that road jams without warning, so direct guests arrived late far too often and the safari cannot wait. If you do drive, be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes early; arriving after the group has left means you miss the ride and there is no refund.
Can you see dolphins during the jet ski safari Tenerife?
Sometimes, and when it happens it is special, but this is a jet ski safari, not a whale watching trip, and nobody can promise sightings. If dolphins or pilot whales appear, the guide stops the engines and keeps the legal distance while you watch. Want guaranteed animal time? Book a proper whale watching boat and keep the jet skis for the speed.
Can I get seasick on a jet ski?
Very unlikely. Jet skis move quickly and do not stay still like boats.
Can I bring a GoPro on the jet ski safari?
No. For safety the base does not allow phones or cameras on the jet ski, not even a GoPro on a strap or in a pouch. Everything stays in the free locker at the harbour. The guide boat takes action photos of every rider during the safari, and you can look at them afterwards and buy them only if you like them.
How many jet skis join each safari?
Normally around eight jet skis, so up to sixteen people, plus the guide in a support boat. Big enough to be fun, small enough that the guide knows who is where and nobody is waiting in a queue to get going.
What makes this jet ski safari Tenerife different from shorter tours?
It is a true long-distance guided experience. About 60 km of coastline, waves, views and speed. Not a short beach rental, not a loop near the port. It is the real version, the one most recommended by locals and experienced travelers.
What should I wear?
Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen; you ride barefoot and in your swimwear, with a life jacket on top. A wetsuit is free at the base if you want one. Shoes, phone, camera and anything else go in the locker, because nothing comes on the jet ski. Sunglasses only with a strap, the sea has a big collection already.
Why is the pickup service such a big deal?
Because the base is in Las Galletas, past the airport, and that road jams without warning. Driving yourself means traffic, a parking hunt and a real chance of arriving after the group has left, which is a lost ride with no refund. With pickup, you walk a few minutes to a meeting point near your hotel, the minibus does the driving, and you are back at the same point two and a half hours later. It is the part of the trip people underrate until they have tried it the other way.
How do I pay the balance at the base?
In cash, or by card only if you bring a printed copy of your ticket; without a printed ticket the base cannot take cards. Club Canary prints your ticket for free at the office in Plaza del Duque, Costa Adeje. Every rider also shows a passport or ID card at check-in, a photo on your phone is fine.
Booking last minute or a time looks full? Always double check real availability with us first, we can often still fit you in.
Jet Ski Safari Booking Policy
Thank you for booking your jet ski safari with Club Canary. Please read this before you book. It is stricter than most of our trips, and here is the honest reason: the jet ski base charges us the full price for every reserved jet ski the moment a guest is late, forgets, or does not show up. We cannot change that, so we have to pass it on.
Deposit And Payment
Your deposit is part of the total price, not an extra fee. The remaining balance is paid at the base in Las Galletas on the day: cash, or card if you bring a printed ticket. The deposit holds your jet skis, it does not cover a late cancellation or a no-show.
Your Free Cancellation Window
1 to 3 jet skis: free cancellation or date change up to 48 hours before the safari.
4 or 5 jet skis: free up to 4 days before.
6 or more jet skis: free up to 5 days before. Bigger groups are harder to refill, that is the only reason. To cancel or change, email office@clubcanary.com.
After Your Free Window Closes
Cancel after the free window but more than 24 hours before (more than 48 hours before for 4 or more jet skis): you lose the full deposit. You pay nothing more.
Cancel between 24 and 12 hours before (between 48 and 12 hours for 4 or more jet skis): you lose the full deposit and you still pay 75% of the remaining balance. We send you a payment link.
Cancel less than 12 hours before, miss the pickup, arrive too late, get stuck in traffic, or do not show up: you lose the full deposit and you still pay 100% of the remaining balance. We send you a payment link. No exceptions.
Direct Arrivals, Paid In Full
Guests who drive to the base themselves pay the full amount in advance. We decided this because too many direct guests arrived late, usually stuck in the traffic past the airport, and the safari cannot wait. The same ladder applies, as refunds:
Cancel inside your free window: full refund.
Cancel after the free window but more than 24 hours before: you lose the amount that other guests pay as a deposit, the rest is refunded.
Cancel between 24 and 12 hours before: 25% of the balance is refunded, the rest is kept.
Cancel less than 12 hours before, arrive after the group has left, or do not show up: no refund.
Pickup And Arrival
Pickup guests: be at your meeting point 5 minutes before the time on your ticket. The minibus leaves on time and does not wait. Missing it counts as a no-show, and reaching the harbour by taxi is your own responsibility. Playa Paraíso and Callao Salvaje pickups carry a 10€ supplement per jet ski, paid at the base.
Direct arrivals: be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes before the safari for parking, check-in and the briefing.
Conduct And Safety
Club Canary works only with licensed partners. Follow the guide, the crew and the safety briefing at all times. Arriving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or heavy medication, dangerous riding, or being over the weight limits (120 kg single, 160 kg combined on a double) means refused participation without refund. No phones or cameras on the jet ski. Every rider shows a passport or ID card, drivers under 24 always, and the minimum age rules are always respected.
Weather And Sea Conditions
Every safari depends on sea and weather conditions, and the guide has the final call for safety. If the operator cancels for unsafe conditions, you choose: reschedule for free or a full refund of what you paid.
By Booking You Accept This
By booking with Club Canary you confirm that you have read and accepted this policy. Questions or changes: office@clubcanary.com or WhatsApp, every day from 08:00 to 22:00.
These rules exist so our partner keeps running safe trips and keeps jet skis for serious guests. When someone does not show up, the jet ski still leaves the harbour empty and we still pay for it. Thanks for keeping it fair for everyone. Set the alarm.

Club Canary's Honest Take
Real talk from your local team in the Canary Islands
If you only want a quick blast, a 1 hour jet ski ride can be enough. But if you want a real ocean experience, this 2 hour safari is the better choice: more time on the water, a longer guided route along 60 km of volcanic coast, pickup included, and a relaxed rhythm where you enjoy the south coast instead of rushing everything.
We will be straight with you: the 2 hours include check-in and the briefing, so you ride around 1.5 hours, still more than any other trip here. Pickup is included on every booking, the deposit is small, and because Club Canary works with several trusted teams a full calendar rarely means a lost date. Same style of price as the harbour, far more service. Honestly, a no-brainer.
Three practical things. Pickup is from a meeting point near your hotel now, not the hotel door, a few minutes on foot and a much smoother run. Phones and GoPros stay in the locker, the guide boat shoots the photos. And bring cash or a printed ticket for the balance; our office prints it for free. Plus the one that catches people out: this safari leaves from Las Galletas, not Puerto Colón, the transfer takes you there and back.
One booking, zero stress, the signature safari. That is the smart way to jet ski Tenerife.
