Why? Stricter nature protection rules now apply to the forest tracks this route used. We think that is fair enough. Those woods below Teide are exactly the kind of place worth protecting, and we would rather lose a tour than argue with that.

What we are doing about it. Club Canary is working with our partner on a replacement that keeps what people loved here: real sightseeing plus some genuine off-road, on ground where it is allowed. We hope to have it live in 2027. This exact tour may also return if the rules allow it, which is why the full description is still below.

Every quad tour currently running on Tenerife goes up Mount Teide on sealed roads, because that is where quads are allowed. The Club Canary Forest Quad Tour Tenerife was a four hour quad excursion from Chío in the south of the island, covering a 70 km route with 35 km of off-road driving through the forest below Mount Teide, returning via Santiago del Teide. It included hotel pickup in south Tenerife, a multilingual guide, full insurance with no security deposit, and a Canarian tapas stop at an 18th century hotel-restaurant. Quads carried one or two riders, drivers needed a valid car licence and passengers were welcome from age 7. The tour is currently paused because of stricter nature protection rules on the forest tracks it used, and Club Canary is working on a replacement with sightseeing and off-road for 2027.

What Made This One Different

Most quad tours on Tenerife follow the same mountain roads. This one did not. It climbed from Chío toward Teide, then dropped into the pine forest on dirt tracks, looped back through Santiago del Teide, and stopped halfway for tapas in an old Canarian restaurant.

That mix was the point: real off-road, real scenery and a proper break in the middle, rather than a convoy taking photos at the same three viewpoints. It is also exactly what we are trying to rebuild.

Good To Know

Drivers And Passengers

A valid car licence was required to drive a quad. Bring the original.
Passengers were welcome from age 7, riding on the back.
On a double quad, riders could swap driver during the trip.
Not recommended during pregnancy.

Weight Limit

Maximum 160 kg per quad. A couple over 160 kg combined had to book two single quads.
This was checked at the base. Turning up over the limit without warning meant sorting it out with the quad company on the day, with no refund.

What To Bring

Your Club Canary ticket, on your phone or printed.
Your driving licence.
Comfortable clothes and closed shoes that can get dirty. No flip-flops.
An extra layer. It gets noticeably colder as you climb toward Teide.

Meeting Point, For Anyone Driving Themselves

Arrive at least 10 minutes before departure. Open the location on Google Maps.
Free parking at the departure point.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:30 to 14:30, or 15:30 to 19:30.
Tuesday and Thursday: 11:00 to 15:00.

Can I book this tour today?

No. The Forest Quad Tour is not running and cannot be booked. The two quad tours higher up this page are both available now.

Why was it stopped?

Stricter nature protection rules now apply to the forest tracks the route used. It is not a problem with the operator or the quads, and it is a rule we think makes sense for that area.

Will it come back?

We hope so. Club Canary is working with our partner on a tour that combines sightseeing with genuine off-road on permitted ground, aiming for 2027. This exact route may also return if the rules allow it.

Do any Tenerife quad tours still go off-road?

Not at the moment. Every quad tour running on the island goes up Mount Teide on sealed roads. We would rather tell you that plainly than let you book expecting dirt.

We are gutted about this one. It was one of the tours we most liked sending people on, and the reviews showed it. Nothing else on the island mixed real off-road, a proper climb toward Teide and a tapas stop in an old Canarian restaurant.

But the forest tracks fall under stricter protection now, and honestly, fair enough. Those woods are worth more than our booking numbers.

Here is the straight version of your options. Every quad tour running on Tenerife today goes up Teide on sealed roads. They are genuinely good rides with the best views on the island, but there is no dirt. If off-road was your whole reason for booking, we would rather you knew before you paid than after you set off.
