Viking Boat Tenerife, A Real Viking Ship In Los Cristianos

Most whale watching trips are the same: a white boat, a guide, some dolphins if you are lucky. The Ragnarok is different. It is a proper Viking-style ship, sailed by a crew in full Viking attire, and the whole trip is built like a small adventure. Vikings really did sail past these islands in the Middle Ages, and this boat brings that story to life: sword shows, helmets and shields to try on, a throne of Eric Red Beard for the photo of the holiday, and you can even mint your own Viking coin at the little onboard market.

One detail people love: the Ragnarok is a barefoot ship. Shoes and flip-flops are stored when you board and returned in port, so you feel the wooden deck under your feet like the crew does. Small thing, but it makes the whole trip feel real. Want a preview? Watch the Ragnarok in action on YouTube.

Dad has fully ascended ⚔️ Helmets, axes and shields on board, free to try. Ten minutes in, every dad on the ship is a Viking chief.

Can You See Whales And Dolphins On The Viking Boat?

Yes, and the odds are genuinely good. The Ragnarok sails the strait between Tenerife and La Gomera, home to resident pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins all year round, which is why animals are seen on most trips. The boat carries the official Barco Azul licence for responsible whale and dolphin watching under Canary Islands law, and a guide explains what you are seeing along the way. They are wild animals, so we never promise sightings, but few places in Europe give you a better chance.

2-Hour Or 3-Hour Viking Cruise?

Both cruises give you the Viking ship, the crew in attire, the photo moments and the whale and dolphin watching. The difference is what each one adds. The 3-hour cruise sails Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 13:00, and the 2-hour cruise runs daily at several times, so pick your date in the booking calendar to see the live times.

Is The Viking Boat Good For Children?

This is one of the boat trips in Tenerife that children genuinely remember. The crew are real entertainers: they play with the kids, run the Viking games, hand out the gear and pose for every photo. Kids get the throne, the coin, the shields and a crew that treats them like small warriors. Parents get whales, sunshine and the rare holiday feeling of children entertaining themselves. The ship is wheelchair accessible, strollers come aboard easily, and children under 14 just need an adult with them.

The crew makes the trip 💜 Real entertainers who play with the kids, not just sail the boat. This is why parents actually get to relax.

What Food And Drinks Are On Board?

The Ragnarok has a proper onboard bar and kitchen. Burgers, snacks and ice cream are for sale during every cruise, with vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, and guests regularly mention the fair prices in reviews. Food is not included in the ticket, so bring a card or some cash. Drinks work differently per cruise: on the 3-hour cruise, standard drinks are unlimited and included (water, soft drinks, beer and wine), while on the 2-hour cruise you order from the bar. Spirits and cocktails cost extra on both.

Club Canary's Honest Take

Real talk from your local team in the Canary Islands

This is the family boat trip in Tenerife. It is not a silent, sit-still cruise, and that is exactly the point. The Ragnarok is loud, visual and fun: whales and dolphins for the grown-ups, Viking games and photo moments for the kids, and a crew that treats children like small warriors instead of luggage.

Our honest advice: coming with children, take the 3-hour cruise. Ten euros more per adult gets you the swim stop, unlimited standard drinks and the full Viking show. The 2-hour cruise is the smart pick for a shorter, lighter taste. And if you want a smaller group with more comfort and budget, ask us about the Atlantic Star instead.

Whales for the parents, Vikings for the kids, one very happy boat, a legendary family day out.
