The Teide Cable Car, Let's Be Honest
This tour does not include the Teide cable car, and that is on purpose. We will be straight with you: it is often cancelled for wind (which means refund hassle), it does not go to the actual summit, and for the price, we honestly find it a bit boring and overpriced. Many guests who ride it say the same, long waits and not much to do. So we keep this trip simple and affordable: the bus, the views, and the free time.

It does not reach the top. The cable car takes you high up, but the actual summit needs a separate permit. For that, see our guided Mount Teide hike with permit.
Free time is built in. Some guests on your bus will have their own cable car tickets, so the tour has plenty of free time at the park while the bus waits. That is normal and part of the plan, not a delay.
Strict rules apply. If you do ride it: closed sports shoes only, and it is not allowed for guests with reduced mobility, a walking stick, heart problems, who are pregnant, or for children aged 3 or under. It can also close at short notice for weather.
Still want to ride it? The cable car is roughly 50€ per adult and 25€ per child (3 to 13). It must be bought in advance (it cannot be bought on the bus, and it is non-refundable). Good To Know Before Your Teide Trip
- Pickup is around 08:30 to 09:00 and you are back at your hotel around 15:00 to 15:30, so about 6 to 7 hours in total including pickup and drop-off. It is a relaxed shared sightseeing bus with scenic stops and free time, an easy pace with minimal walking. Please plan it as a full morning out, not a quick trip.
- The tour is always available in English. German, French, Italian and Spanish are sometimes available depending on the date and the guide, so please check with us first. Dutch is not currently available. In winter there are often more languages.
- Bring a warm layer (the park is above 2,000 metres and can be cold even when sunny), sunscreen, water and a snack. There is no restaurant stop, so eat before departure or plan lunch after your return.
- Foldable wheelchairs only, maximum 2 per bus, please request in advance. Front seats can be reserved for guests with mobility or hearing needs. The Vilaflor stop has toilets.
- A small deposit per person online, the balance paid on the bus in cash or by payment link (no card machine). Child price is for ages 2 to 11, and under 16s must be with an adult. Bring your ticket, digital or printed.

I am staying in Puerto de la Cruz, can I join this tour?
This tour leaves from the south of Tenerife only. If you are staying in Puerto de la Cruz, please book our separate Teide tour from Puerto de la Cruz instead, which is designed for pickups in the north.
What time will I be back at my hotel?
You are back at your hotel around 15:00 to 15:30. Pickup is around 08:30 to 09:00, so it is a full morning out. On busy days, cable car queues and traffic can push the return a little later. If you need to be back earlier, this tour may not be the best fit, and a private Teide trip would give you more control over the timing.
Is the El Teide bus tour a long day?
It can feel long for some people, as it is about 6 to 7 hours in total with a fair amount of time on the bus. If you only want to see the volcano and the main viewpoints without spending much, it is great value. If you want a longer, more scenic day that also visits the beautiful Masca valley, the Teide and Masca bus tour is a better choice. Just message us and we will help you pick.

Deposit And Payment
- You reserve with a small deposit. You pay the rest on the day. The deposit is part of the total price.
Your Free Cancellation Window
- 1 to 3 people: free up to 48 hours before the trip.
- 4 to 7 people: free up to 4 days before.
- 8 or more people: free up to 7 days before.
- Big groups are hard to refill at the last minute. That is the only reason. If your group only gets smaller, tell us at least 48 hours before and we lower the price. To cancel, email office@clubcanary.com.
After Your Free Window Closes
- You cancel after your free window, but more than 24 hours before? You lose your deposit. You pay nothing more.
- You cancel between 12 and 24 hours before? You lose your deposit, and you still pay 80% of the rest. We send you a payment link.
- You cancel less than 12 hours before, you do not show up, or you arrive too late? You lose your deposit, and you still pay the full rest. We send you a payment link.
- Our partner charges us the full price for your reserved places either way. That is why the deposit alone can never cover a late cancellation.
The Only Exception
- The only exception is a real doctor or hospital paper that says you cannot join. It must have a date from before the trip, or the same morning. A paper made after the trip does not count. We need this document for our partner. Feeling unwell without this paper is not enough for a refund. We know this is strict, and we are sorry, but it is the only way we can protect against last-minute cancellations.
Missing The Bus
- During the tour you get free time at some stops. Your guide tells you a clear time to be back. If you are not back in time, the bus leaves and you do not get money back. Every bus has GPS, so we can check all pickups.
