This package is two separate days: a full day at Loro Parque and a 5-hour whale watching boat trip on the Shogun. You pick a day for each, and we sort your transfers. Here is everything you need to know.
🕐 Schedule & Meeting Point
The Shogun boat trip departs at 11:00 from Puerto Colón, Gate 14, in the south. If you make your own way, arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz is open until 17:30, so you have the full day there. The two places are far apart, north and south, which is why they run on different days.
🚐 Transport
Staying in the south? We pick you up in our comfortable express private bus, take you to Loro Parque and back, and you also get the transfer to the boat (or go straight to Puerto Colón yourself). Staying in Puerto de la Cruz? You are next to Loro Parque (walk or free train), and you get the return transfer to the boat. Just tell us your hotel or area when you book.
🍹 Food & Drinks On The Boat
A hot lunch is included: salad, rice with vegetables, meatballs in tomato sauce, roasted chicken, bread and fruit. Water and soft drinks are free all trip, and beer or wine come with the meal. There is a bar on board with cocktails for a small extra cost.
🏌 What To Bring For The Boat
Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen for the swim stop. Sunglasses and a light layer are handy too. If you are prone to seasickness, take a travel sickness tablet about 30 minutes before.

The Shogun is a large wooden ship that takes up to 144 guests, so it has a lively, social atmosphere. Great for families and couples who want a fun day out. If you prefer something small and quiet, ask us about our smaller boats instead.

Loro Parque + Whale Watching Policy
Payment
- This package is booked with full payment online. Your spot is confirmed quickly by our local team.
- You choose a day for Loro Parque and a day for the boat trip at checkout. We will confirm both.
- The boat runs on set days, so if your chosen boat day is not available we will contact you to arrange the nearest option.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel more than 48 hours before your first activity: full refund, minus a small transaction fee.
- Cancel less than 48 hours before: no refund, as the tickets and transfers are already arranged.
- No refund for no-shows or for arriving too late to join the boat or your transfer.
- If you need to change a date, contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to help.
Weather & Wildlife
- The boat trip depends on the weather and sea conditions. If the trip is cancelled by the operator for safety, we will rebook you or offer a refund for that part.
- Whales, dolphins and turtles are wild animals. Sightings are very common on this coast but can never be guaranteed.
- By law, time spent watching the animals is limited to protect them, so the trip is also about the sail, the swim and the lunch.
On The Day
- Be ready on time for your transfer or at the meeting point. Late arrivals cannot be waited for and are treated as a no-show.
- The swim stop goes ahead when conditions allow, it is optional and at your own risk, please follow the crew at all times.
- If you are prone to seasickness, take a tablet about 30 minutes before. The crew help anyone who feels unwell.
- The Shogun cannot take wheelchairs on board, and children under 11 must be with an adult.
Responsibility & Conduct
- Please respect the crew, the park staff, the animals and other guests at all times.
- Follow all safety instructions on the boat and in the park.
- Improper behaviour may lead to removal from the activity without a refund.

How The Transfers Work
Loro Parque is up north in Puerto de la Cruz, the Shogun boat leaves from Puerto Colón in the south. They are not close, so each part is its own day with its own transfer. Here is how it works depending on where you stay.

We pick you up at your hotel or area in our comfortable express private bus, take you to Loro Parque, and bring you back. You also get the pickup for the boat trip, or you can head straight to Puerto Colón harbour yourself if you prefer.
🏝️ Staying In Puerto De La Cruz
You are right next to Loro Parque, so you can walk or take the free yellow train, no transfer needed there. You still get the return transfer to the boat. Want Siam Park too? Add it with a discounted transfer.

Whale Watching On The Shogun
The Shogun is a beautiful old wooden sailing ship that looks like a real pirate ship, loads of character. Your 5-hour whale watching trip leaves Puerto Colón at 11:00 and sails the south coast, with a swim stop and a proper lunch on board.
Pilot whales live off this coast all year, so on a 5-hour trip you are very likely to see them, often within the first hour. Dolphins are common too, and many trips spot loggerhead turtles and flying fish. It is a big boat, so it keeps a respectful distance and watches the animals in the wild without crowding them. By law, boats can only stay with the whales for a short time to protect them, so the day is also about the sail, the swim and the lunch, not only the animals.
Honest heads up: the Shogun is a lively, fun boat with music and a great atmosphere, brilliant for families and groups who want a laugh at sea. It can get busy, and that is part of the fun. If you want a quiet, private or more elegant trip, this is not the one, and we will say so further down.
