Tina Whale Watching La Gomera: The Ultimate Marine Experience
La Gomera might be one of the smaller Canary Islands, but when it comes to authentic and peaceful whale watching, it truly stands out. While places like Tenerife boast a variety of whale watching tours, La Gomera’s charm lies in its exclusive Tina whale watching excursions. Here’s why Tina’s trips are a must-do for anyone visiting La Gomera.
Why Choose Tina Excursions La Gomera?
Short, Sweet, and Scenic Trips:
At just 3 hours long, Tina’s boat trips are ideal for those who might be wary of seasickness. This duration is perfect for spotting diverse marine life, enjoying the serene waters, and even taking a brief swimming break. Plus, with the coast of La Gomera always in view, it adds to the comfort and visual appeal.
Flexible Departure Points:
For those stationed near Playa Santiago, Tina offers trips every Monday and Thursday at 10:00 am. Though priced slightly higher at 48€ due to the boat’s extra journey, it’s a boon for guests in that area. Alternatively, Valle Gran Rey is the main departure point with trips at 10:00 am and 14:00 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturdays and Sundays at a rate of 43€ per person.
Child-Friendly Excursions:
Children aged 3-11 can join the fun at a flat rate of 24€. If you have little ones under 3 years, they hop on for free. Just remember to mention them in the order notes.
High Chances of Whale Sightings:
The beauty of La Gomera’s waters is that you have a whopping 95% chance of witnessing pilot whales. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot the rarer sperm whales. As for playful dolphins like the bottlenose? They make appearances about 45% of the time.
More Than Just a Whale Tour:
Tina excursions understand that it’s not just about the marine life but also the entire sea journey. Guests can enjoy complimentary drinks and tapas, with options even for gluten-free and vegetarian diets. But remember, while it’s a delightful addition, it’s not a lavish buffet.
La Gomera Boat Trips: A Different Vibe
Compared to the bustling tourist attractions in other Canary Islands, La Gomera offers tranquility. Here, you share your boat trip with fellow nature enthusiasts, devoid of the loud, overwhelming crowds. It’s this serene environment, combined with the high likelihood of spotting whales, that potentially makes La Gomera the best Canary Island for a whale watching adventure.
